Tabitha's P.O.V.
When I awoke my surroundings were different, I tried to sit up but my head spun fiercely and I fell back onto the fluffy pillows of the hospital bed. I turned my head and stared out of the window at a beautiful sunset.
As I began to look around at the warm welcoming colors of the room I heard glass shatter, turning my head towards the noise I noticed my mom with a look of surprise on her face.
"Mom?" I said, my voice cracking. "Where am I, what happened?" She looked at me and froze.
"T-T-Tabitha?" She said, pinching herself to make sure she was awake.
"Yeah, it's me. I smiled, my lips cracking with the movement."
"Oh my god Tabitha! You're alive, you're awake!"
I licked my lips, trying to clear my dry throat.
The doctors rushed in, checking my vitals, and swarming around my room.
"Mom, what happened?"
"You fell in the bathroom Tabitha. You've been in Acoma for 23 days, 23 Tabitha!"
"23 days?" I croaked trying to clear my voice again.
"Yes Tabby, 23. They were giving you a month, and they were giving up. They told me if you were out for a month the chances of you waking up were unreal."
“I- I can’t remember anything that happened, can I have some water.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~Heidi’s P.O.V.
Why do I feel the need to just give up, I almost killed my sister. I hit my head against the wall hard enough for my vision to blacken for a couple seconds.
"Why must I be so stupid?" I screamed at myself, "Why must I never succeed?"
I looked over at Davin, who was sitting on the step of the old burnt out church. Many many years ago we went here. Mom would bring us every Thursday and Sunday until the pastor named Dave passed away at the ripe old age of 86. The day after he baptized Davin and I a drunk driver took his life.
"Davin?" I said aloud, squirming where I stood looking over at him. I could tell he was crying, his shoulders trembling.
"We almost killed her." He said through tears.
"I know." I said, walking over to comfort him.
"But she's alive now, Davin."
"That doesn't take away the fact that we almost killed her, Heidi."
He stood up, scuffing his feet. I felt safer having my big brother here with me. Every time I thought about his death back home, I was saddened. He was a early high school graduate. He would have had it all one day. He was so brilliant, why did this happen to him. I looked at the sun that was going down.
"Davin." I said, beginning to feel the horror. "It's getting late, you know what happens after dark, we have to go, NOW!" I said, grabbing his hand and dragging him.
"WHY WON'T YOU JUST FACE HIM, HADIE!"
"I'M NOT STUPID, THAT'S WHY! IT'S EITHER YOUR COMING OR NOT, BUT I'M NOT STICKING AROUND HERE, WAITING FOR HIM!" I sprinted towards our house, stopping to catch my breath. I looked back, and there he was, standing right in front of Davin.
I inhaled deeply and stood, frozen in fear. His eyes were coal black, no sign of life in them. He looked up at me, cocking his head sideways. He walked around Davin, and headed straight towards me.
"Sh*t." I said outloud. It was more of a whisper then anything. I started to turn around, but before that was possible he was within feet of me. I backed up, moving as fast as i could. Then he grabbed me. My screams were muffled, and I went limp. That was the last thing I remembered before I opened my eyes, and started into the eyes if the devil himself.
