Tabitha's P.O.V.
Voices were all around me, like a thousand tiny jumbled up puzzle pieces in my mind. The voices felt so far away, but I was in and out of consciousness. I tried to focus; like they were telling me to, but every time my eyes finally focused they rolled back in my head.
I felt the paramedic slicing off my shirt from the side. It was after she removed it that I heard the "Oh nos" of people around me. I felt someone get up off the couch, and the air coming back into the cushion. I heard something crash into the front door, but soon after realized that It was them bringing in the stretcher.
I wanted to tell them to get me a blanket because I was so cold, but I couldn't respond. I groaned in agony, but no noise surfaced out of my mouth. I heard a loud thump as if someone dropped next to me on their knees "Oh no, no no no how bad is it? Is she okay? Is she dead?" I heard a male voice ask, I assumed it was my dad, but it was too faint to make out the voice.
I heard the chorus of the paramedics in unison. "One, two, three." And I was lifted onto the stretcher. I felt my side being strained from the bandages they had on me, trying desperately to stop the blood flowing casually out of the wound deep within the walls of my ribs. I still never got how I kept running after being shot, but I had the will power to make it this far.
I felt the wheels vibrating the bed I was strapped to. It was a good kind of sensation, it was pretty comforting. I wanted to fall asleep, but I kept hearing a voice telling me to stay with them and not to close my eyes. I couldn't get the message to my brain fast enough though, because I was already closing my eyes. I was so tired, and keeping awake wasn't an option anymore.
The sirens rang loud in my ear, the screeching sound of the tires came next. The next thing I knew I was strapped to a sideways stretcher, In the back of what used to be an ambulance. I struggled to regain my eyesight, going cross-eyed. I felt something dripping onto the side of my head. I dizzily and drousily turned my head to the left, and let out a scream I would have never imagined would come from my lungs.
Above my head was Dad, staring at me with glossy wide open eyes. I screamed louder, terrified. I knew he was dead from the way his neck was placed. I could see the bones in his neck in disarray. I started twisting and turning trying to get away from the horrible sight. I was so scared, and absolutely horrified.
"Why is this happening to me?" I kept shouting over and over out loud, It sounded like a scream but it was only the remnants of one. I couldn't tell what was happening anymore. When I looked down at my leg, I saw the reason for most of my pain. A twisted rod from the heart monitor machine was sticking through it.
Davin's P.O.V.
It was hard not to be loud, seeming as how every move I made the floorboards screamed at me. The smell of blood lingered in the air. I hated that smell. It smelled metallic, and rusty; Like iron. It was making me nauseous so I plugged my nose with my fingers, but letting go two minutes later. My face was still aching because it hadn't healed, my head was pounding too.
It was so hard keep on fighting rather than just giving up. I sounded like a wimp. I slid against the wall, making very little noise except the noise of my shirt's resistance. The front door was wide open, the sun's shadow creeping through it. I squinted against the light. This house was so dark it didn't seem like it was the middle of the night.
I hadn't seen any light switches, which I thought was pretty odd about this place. I crept towards the front door, sliding my feet across the floor that had at least an inch of dirt covering it. I pushed myself off the wall and towards the front door. I walked outside, and looked at the sky, the sun was so bright but no heat seemed to come from it.
I didn't understand this. It made me wonder if this place didn't have seasons, or if it had any kind of climate change at all. I struggled to keep my balance on the hard dried out ground. There wasn't any grass, it was all dirt. I looked down studying it, and noticed little droplets of blood, right along with foot indentions.
I followed them to the edge of woods by Luca's back yard, and paused when I saw something lying by a big oak tree. The shape was hard to miss, and I shrinked back in disgust. Guts, brains, and other body parts were lying out all over the dirt. It was obviously the beast lying there, but something was wasn't right about it. A huge writhing lump in its stomach caught my attention, and I stood there confused, and senseless.
I ran inside, straight to the kitchen grabbing a knife. All I could think about was Luka in there. I sprinted across the grass and skidded across the ground next to it trying to come to a complete stop before dropping to my knees. The lump had stopped moving, as I hastily began to slice through the layers of the stomach, eager to get him out.
I reached into the body, pulling on his stomach trying to get through the layers. Reaching in I found an arm and tugged reaching in for the shoulders.
I cried out in utter shock and realization that what I pulled out of it wasn’t Luka.
It was Nina.
