Kindaichi is just full of surprises, you never know what comes next, Kunimi is utterly speechless when he sees how much he does for him.

  "Akira wake up! I have a surprise for you!" Kindaichi eagerly whispered, shaking the younger male, visibly disrupting him.

Kunimi turned his head and glared at him, he could tolerate Kindaichi and his antics but not when he is deep asleep and tired. So he pushed the boy's arms away and went back to sleep.

"Call me again tomorrow." He mumbled putting the blanket over his head.

Kindaichi pouted at his attitude, a small piece of his heart cracked for a second, but then got upset so he snatched the blanket out of Kunimi's hand and started to tickle him rapidly.

"Wake up now!" Kindaichi exclaimed, tickling the sides of his stomach, knowing that it's his biggest weakness, Kunimi's eyes flew open.

  "Yuutarou not this again!" Kunimi shouted, trying his best to shove the other boy's arms away, and of course, there is no use.

  "Wake up then!" He shouted more quietly. When he did Kindaichi removed his arms from his sides.

  "What do you want?" Kunimi sighed as he got up from his little blanket ball that he was once sleeping soundly in.

  Kindaichi smiled at him and then replied "It's a surprise! Come on now!" He eagerly tugged Kunimi's arm.

  "-Wait let me wear something!" Kunimi said, stubbornly discarding the blankets and slowly walking to his drawer to look for something to wear, pulling out a random shirt and hanging it in front of him. He looked back with his eyes and caught Kindaichi staring.

"Ahem."

  "O-Oh right," Kindaichi sputtered, face turning into a cute small shade of pink, speed walking out of the room and into the kitchen.

Kunimi giggled, wondering what he has in mind.

Meanwhile, Kindaichi was in the kitchen making sure that everything was in place and things were ready to go,

'Hmm little food basket...good, anything else?" He thought for a few seconds, "Nope! Everything is good to go!"  Just as Kindaichi was about to go knock on Kunimi's room door, he found him standing right next to him.

  "Ah!" He gasped in fright, grasping his shirt for support.

  Kunimi just chuckled and replied, "What do you have in mind Yuutarou, you did just interrupt my sleep so this better be good." He said rubbing his eye.

  "Y-Yes! I know it'll be good!" Kindaichi grinned, looking down at the other boy and grabbing his hand and the small basket from the table and leaving the house.

  After a few minutes of walking hand-in-hand, Kunimi dropped his head on Kindaichi's shoulder and muttered.

  "Yuu was walking you're surprise?

  Kindaichi could tell he was drowsy, but he knew that his surprise would brighten his mood up and kissed his head saying, "No Akira, just a few more steps till we can sit down." He said, wrapping his arms around his waist helping him walk.

  They walked for a few more minutes till Kindaichi found a little table right next to the playground, and guided Kunimi to have a seat. He also put the small basket on the table right where Kunimi can see it.

  "Yuu? What's this?" He questioned, looking at the older boy that sat next to him.

  "This is the surprise Akira!" Kindaichi smiled, "Come on see what's in the basket!"

  Kunimi raised an eyebrow at him questioningly and grabbed the basket by the handle, bringing it closer for him to see it.

  What he saw in the basket was various amount of snacks, ranging from small cakes, refreshing-looking juices, and of course, salted caramel.

  "I bought this with all my money that I saved for you Akira, and I know you didn't have salted caramel in a while so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to not buy but to set up a whole surprise for you."

  Kunimi looked up to see his face, it was all pink, looking away, and lip quivering in nervousness, not knowing the reaction to expect from the less enthusiastic boy.

  "Oh, Yuu..." He sighed, covering his face with one hand.

  Kindaichi looked back at him, and dropped his head, 'What were you expecting dumbass? Of course, he doesn't like it." He thought bitterly. He wanted to leave and disappear, looking back at how stupid he was. He continued to feel bitter until he felt warm hands cup his face.

Tears were so close to stream down his face until Kunimi had wiped them away and locked eyes with him, "First tell me why are you crying?"

Kindaichi had shaken up, looking at Kunimi for a second, and quickly looking away, he replied with a hoarse voice, "I thought you didn't like my surprise, I took a while to save up and I thought that you still weren't satisfied with me."

Kunimi softens his eyes at him, taking what he said just now to heart. He felt Kindaichi shudder more in his hands, sensing that he was going to cry again.

"Hey hey, don't cry again, look at me and breathe," Kunimi whispered adoringly. Kindaichi heaved an exhale and sniffled, fixating his gaze back to Kunimi who was smiling warmly at him.

Kindaichi wiped a tear that was near falling out and rested his head on Kunimi's shoulder, both boys rocking back and forth soothingly on the bench. Kunimi pulled back and cupped his face again to see his eyes.

There were no tears but they were still glossy and red, Kunimi kissed his lips which caught him off guard and eyes widening.

"Does this mean you l-like it or not? Kindaichi sputtered in confusion.

  "Yuu I didn't like it...I loved it. Kunimi murmured, "You're the sweetest ever, why wouldn't I not like all this that you did for me?"

Kindaichi pouted and smiled at the same time, relieved that what he had thought was not true at all. Kunimi kissed him once again and continued saying.

"Come on now, let's enjoy some of these before it gets late." He said locking his fingers with the other boy.

"Okay." Kindaichi smiled, happier than ever.
