Through blurry eyes, I look for the car keys in my jeans pocket. Then I remember, they are in my bag that is in our, Abel's room. I kick furiously at the tire, wanting the outer pain to stop the excruciating pain I am feeling on the inside.

"Kiara wait!" Abel shouts my name. Not wanting to see him, I keep facing my car and hear his footsteps nearing me. I feel him behind me before he even speaks

"I don't want to talk to you." I say quietly. He touches my wrist, turning me to face him. "I'm sorry baby. I know I hurt you." I look past him, inside the house. He makes me so vulnerable. How can I stay mad when his voice brings me on my knees?

"You could have not if you have answered my question." I reply.

"I will. I promise I will tell you everything, whatever you ask me. But just, please come with me." He pleads.

"Why?"

"It's not safe for us here. Please, try to understand." At that I look at him. His eyes tell me he is saying the truth. I know I should not trust him, he gave me every reason not to, but I want to give him last chance.

"Okay." I say and without another word walk inside the house.

"The car's here. I'll take the bags, you meet me downstairs." Abel takes my suitcase and his and walk away. A part of me is still not sure if this is a good idea. But I do want to know what he is hiding, and if that means going with him then be it.

I quickly sent a text to Tabitha and Lexi telling them I am going to NY. Tabitha replies instantly, asking why with a lot of question marks. I lie and say that Abel is taking me on a getaway to fix my mood.

Abel and crew waits for me downstairs. He takes my backpack from me and hand it to Dino as he leads us to our car.

"Where's La Mar? Is he not coming with us?" I ask, looking around for him.

Abel hesitates before answering. "He, uh, he said he'll stay here and keep an eye on the intruder for me. Also he's busy with the Hxouse and everything." He replies.

We arrive directly on the runway to avoid paparazzi. I don't realise that I am zoning out, watching his huge private jet, when his voice startle me.

"Like it?" He chuckles. We grab our luggage and walk towards the jet when one of his crew calls for him. They huddle together and talk in low voices. After a few minutes they breakfree and Abel walks back towards me.

"Everything's good. Let's go." He takes my hand in his as we are greeted by the pilot.

"Mr. Tesfaye, good to see you." Abel shakes his hand.

"Hello Mr. Lance. This is my girlfriend, Kiara Carter." He introduce.

"Miss. Carter, nice to meet you. I am going to be your captain for tonight's flight." He shakes my hand. Mr. Lance appears to be in his late 50s, with salt and pepper hair, and prominent wrinkles around his eyes when he smiles.

I smile back at him and we board the jet.

Abel leads us towards the end of the jet, near the cabin crew's cabin. A beautiful blonde woman helps me put my backpack in above carriage.

"Thank you."

"My pleasure. I'm Anna, your hostess for this flight. I hope you have a comfortable journey. If you need anything just press the button overhead." She informs and walk away to help others.

"So, what's the story?" I ask Abel as we settle on the seats. "All in time. At least let us take-off." He says.

"So then whatever you tell me, I will have no choice to run away?" I tease him but he gets serious.

"Do you want to go? I want to keep you safe but I can't force you to stay on board if you don't want to."

"It was a joke. I'm not going anywhere, no matter how horrifying the truth is." I assure him. He doesn't reply just looks at me and nod.

"Good evening passengers. This is Mr. Elliot Lance and I'm going to be your captain for tonight from Los Angeles to New York. We are currently second in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately 8 minutes. We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Enjoy your flight." Captain announces. I fasten my seat belt and put my phone on flight mode.

After a few minutes, plane's engines start and captain announces that we are ready for take-off.

Once in air, captain let us know that the flight is going to be 5 to 6 hours long and are expected to land in NY around 3 am in the morning.

"Now that we're airborne with no chance of me escaping for the next 6 hours, tell me everything. From the start." I say to Abel.

He presses the button on overhead to call for hostess. She comes immediately and Abel orders whiskey for him and cosmo for me.
