Chapter Forty Six

He then takes a big sigh and looks at me.

"Look, whatever I tell, you have to promise to me you won't say anyone else." He requests. Obviously I wasn't going to but to satisfy him I promise.

"Just so you know, I'm not sure this is that same person. It's just a guess." He informs.

"So as everyone knows, when I left my home we were broke. We didn't had enough money to rent a place or even eat proper meals." This topic is making him uncomfortable, it's so obvious. It amazes me how far he have come from those days. This man now travels the world and has everything he only dreamed about.

"We would, um, steal and then sell so we can get dinner or buy drugs. It may sound so stupid to someone that even though we were broke, we still bought drugs. But those were for getting girls. Like, we were average looking guys and chicks liked us.

When they hear we had something to make them feel good, they would try to get in our pants and take us home. In a nutshell, by supplying them with drugs, we got sex and a house for a night free. That was our routine."

I am sure my face is as bewildered as I'm feeling right now. I can't say anything, just nod at his words.

"Are you okay? Should I stop?" He asks seeing my expression. I shake my head no and nod for him to continue.

"So, um, doing small robberies didn't fulfilled our needs. We wanted more. More money, more drugs, more girls. That is when trouble happened.

We knew this guy, Bennet, who we used to sell our steals to. He had connections and gave us good money for our find. So one day, he gave us a job. There was a new jewellery shop opened in the neighbourhood and we was to steal the expensive uncut diamonds that they were in possession of."

His story is cut off by air hostess bringing snacks and our drinks. He thank her without looking and mindlessly takes a sip of the drink.
