일곱: Let Go

We both went to the cafe near our apartment. It's just blocks away, so it won't tire us anyhow. I was holding his hands while humming a song.

I was humming and he was singing, his soft voice gave chills inside my body. We were smiling the whole time like there's no tomorrow and no one was with us. We rule our own world, it's our story to write in this environment.

“What if we rewrite the stars, say you were meant to be mine.” He sang while I was in daze, his voice was making me feel at ease. In tranquil and serenity, that's how I describe his voice.

I was smiling, drowning in his presence. Staring at him like there's no other human in this world. Everything felt surreal and indescribable. It's always amazing when I'm with him.

“We're here!” He said excitedly while pulling me with him inside. This cafe is inspired by everything you feel the moment you step inside. It's either your happy or broken-hearted, at peace or in agony.

I've already been here many times and I didn't have the chance to write anything since I always rush myself just to get to him, to check if he's doing fine.

“Steven, look there's many pen out there.” He pointed a container filled with different colors of pen and markers. There's also different boards where you can write on.

“Yes,” I nodded, justifying myself as Steven. I'm like playing a role, where I need to act properly. Where I shouldn't get hurt. But it's inevitable to avoid the arrow of pain, because I'm not numb.

His eyes were sparkling in excitement as he pull me with him at a cute board.

“Should we write something?” I asked while picking up a blue pen. He cutely nodded while fixing his gazes at the written words. Yes, there are too many handwritten in here. Some were delighted and some were broken.

I decided to write first since he's still busy reading. I was smiling genuinely yet painfully as I was writing those words.

‘I need you to call my name. I need you to say those words with my name. I missed you calling me like that. I love you, Sean.’

I brought back the pen to its container, before watching him. He was blankly staring at the board. My system panicked. Is he hallucinating again?

I poke his cheeks to check if he really was, but then he looked at me and smiled. I was relieved at that moment seeing he's just fine.

“What are you looking at?”

I asked while messing with his hair. He looked back at the board then smiled warmly once again.

“Promises are meant to be broken.”

He suddenly said that made my brows knot. I take a look at where he was looking at and found those sentence right there. I thought he was saying those things himself. That completely made me tremble. Him saying those words are enough for me to break down.

I'll shatter into pieces if that happens.

“But if you value those promise, you won't break it, right?” I asked back when he started writing. He was even covering the words, that made me smile more.

What is he hiding from me? That's cute of him but I'll read it later.

“Done. Let's order something. Come on!” He said and I have no choice but to follow him. I glanced at his writings as my system filled with confusion.

‘The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?’
