The rest of the day was uneventful, apart from the tensed and awkward moments between Amelia and the gang, especially with Becca. She knew the plan, and what I was trying to accomplish by keeping Amelia close, but despite that, she still found it hard to control her anger towards her. I couldn't blame her, though she wasn't the only one feeling that way as I was sure the others as well, she was just more conspicuous than them. After having a talk with her in private, and reminding her about what we agreed, she decided to keep her distance from Amelia instead, while the rest of us had been trying our best to fake niceties. Still the night ended a little early when Amelia decided to turn in for the night, giving us the chance we wanted, to discuss the next plan of action that I was thinking since.
Morning came soon after, the second day of our trip, and I woke up earlier than everyone. Certain thoughts had plagued my mind before I managed to sleep late last night, and the reason I didn't get much sleep at all, but good thing the lack of sleep didn't give me any headache as I didn't want to feel uncomfortable when I was supposed to have fun throughout the day.
After I freshened up, I decided to make a simple breakfast for everyone, and of course, that included Amelia. Truthfully, I didn't want to make her something, not even a simple meal, which was what I was doing unfortunately, as I didn't want to feel something when it came to her. I didn't want to start liking in doing something nice for her, and as much as I could, I wanted to avoid anything that would develop my attachment to her. It would be difficult if that was so, considering I didn't know if she was on our side now or just pretending, but given the situation where I wanted her to think I was actually giving her the chance, I had to do the opposite, which totally sucked.
Finishing up with the meal, I began setting up the table and placed down the food I prepared, but before I could finish, one by one they poured to the dining room. It didn't take long until they got settled and started digging their breakfast, while I took a seat between Lauren and Amelia, to eat. Shifting my gaze to Becca, Mike and Noah who were sitting across us, and to Knowles who just stood up to get something, I smiled, noticing the atmosphere was more bearable now compared to last night. The guys began conversing, and as Knowles came back to his seat, he joined in. They looked like they weren't forcing it, keeping the conversation light, and not only Amelia did pay attention to the their conversation, she also shared something whenever she could relate. Becca on the other hand, she was taking it better than yesterday as she remained in silence but clearly listening attentively. Perhaps she just needed time to adjust having Amelia around, and I was glad it didn't take long.
After breakfast, we went to our rooms and began preparing to head out, except for Knowles and Noah who couldn't come with us as they had other plans. We were planning to go to a country fair today, and to say I was excited was an understatement. I was really looking forward to experience what it would be like in a fair for it was going to be my first time. I was feeling excited to spend time with the gang, and with Lauren...minus the part where Amelia who would be tagging along with us.
"I'm so excited!" Becca suddenly hollered enthusiastically once she had settled down on the passenger seat, catching me by surprise.
"Jeez! Becks, you scared me," I replied, chuckling.
"My bad," she mumbled apologetically, "It's just that it's gonna be my first time, you know..."
I nodded, "I get what you mean, coz I'm feeling the same. Can't wait to experience it with you guys," I mumbled, turning to look at Lauren beside me, lacing my fingers into hers, and kissed the back of her hand, making her smile.
"You're going to enjoy it, dear," Amelia suddenly joined in, causing Becca to instantly roll her eyes, and immediately turned to the front, subtly huffing on the passenger seat, fortunately, Amelia just ignored her reaction. "I had been to countless of fairs when I was young and not even once, I didn't enjoy," she continued, "there's a lot of stuff you can try and explore...Living in a countryside...it was actually my go to, after working tirelessly for hours."
