Staring sternly at Cliff who was sitting on the chair in front of me, I then dumped the folder I had been carrying since I walked in on his office, on to his table, causing him to eventually narrow his eyes at me. He then briefly shifted his gaze to the folder in front of him, before looking back at me with a questioning gaze.

Averting my attention to the other man sitting in front of Cliff's table, I cleared my throat, giving him a blank stare at the same time, before turning my gaze to Cliff who was now raising his brow.

"That...is the answer to why Lauren was in the hospital," I started calmly.

"Hospital? What do you mean?" Lauren's father, Isaac, butted in, but I ignored him, and didn't spare him a glance.

"We are gonna find out Isaac," Cliff answered, before opening the folder, and carefully scanned the paper inside, in silence. "Rose Blanchard?" he asked after a moment, and I eventually looked at Isaac, hesitating if I should say something with him around, but Cliff cleared his throat as if noticing me, and spoke up, "It's fine Alexandra...Isaac is part of the business," he added, and hearing his statement, I eventually clenched my jaw as what I had thought since, about Isaac, was true. The first time I saw him, I got the feeling he was part of the business, judging by how he acted like Cliff's dog, and now that it was confirmed, my hate for the man had magnified.

I let out a deep breath, "The reason why Lauren was there at the hospital was because of Rose Blanchard. Lauren applied for a newswriting position, and Rose's first assignment for her was Joffrey Morrison." As soon as Joffrey's name escaped my mouth, Cliff eventually smiled in amusement.

"Interesting," he mumbled, clasping his hands as he propped his elbows on the table, "How did you get this information? Did she tell you this?"

I smirked, "I could be persuasive if I wanted to know something Cliff, and Lauren...she just fell for it so easily."

"I'm impressed Alexandra..."

"Good, and...there's no reason for us to keep an eye on her since Joffrey is dead. She couldn't ask him anymore, so you're safe Cliff," I suggested sternly.

"Is it really safe?" Isaac suddenly questioned, snapping my gaze to him.

"Excuse me? Are you doubting me Mr. Harrington?" I asked suggestively, causing him to eventually rose up from his seat.

"I don't trust you Kensington," he retorted.

I smiled tauntingly, "The feeling is mutual Mr. Harrington," I said, making him snort in disbelief, before turning his attention to Cliff.

"Is this the kind of person you want to join in our business Cliff? A disrespectful and untrustworthy woman?!" he snapped, making my smile falter eventually as I gritted my teeth, glaring at his side feature, thinking how he instantly made my blood boil.

"Calm yourself down Isaac, I know what I'm doing...We haven't seen what she's really capable... but I caught a glimpse of it..." he paused as he briefly glanced at me, "and I'm telling you, she could be useful to our business."

Isaac snorted sarcastically, "Seriously Cliff? Can't you see she's manipulating you? We don't know anything about her!" he blurted angrily, causing Cliff to briefly glance at me, before his lips slowly curled up into a smile.

"Oh I know enough Isaac," he said suggestively, instantly making me frown. I didn't know what he meant by it, but I wouldn't be so sure about it as it could be that he knew something. Could it be that Amelia told him something about me?

"Yes, Cliff knows enough about me," I interfered, forcing a small smile, earning me an intense glare from Isaac. I stared back at him with the same intensity, letting him know he couldn't easily scare me off, crossing my arms on my chest at the same time as I fully turned to him.
