Alexandra
Clenching my jaw, I quickened my pace as I walked outside of the hospital, glaring at the one person opening the car door for Cliff to get in the car. I didn't know what he and Lauren talked about, but I got the feeling he said something that made Lauren sound agitated on the phone. Lauren wouldn't leave just like that, unless it was something so serious, and Nikolai would get what was coming for him, for stirring things up for her.
"Nikolai!" I yelled, eventually catching his attention, and looking at my direction, his lips curled up into a sinister smile, before he briefly ducked inside the car, and closed the door thereafter. He then rounded the car, and walked towards me, plastering the same smile.
"Alexandra," he called amusingly as he stopped in front of me.
"What did you tell Lauren?" I asked straightaway, clenching my jaw as seeing him calm and collected made my blood boil. I knew he enjoyed causing trouble for others, and I didn't like the idea that he chose Lauren, out of all people, this time.
He suddenly snorted, "I just told her what she needed to know," he answered vaguely, fueling my anger.
"And that is?" I urged, looking at him intently as he shoved his hands on his pants' pocket.
"If she hadn't said a word to you...why should I?" he retorted, making me snort in disbelief, "Look, if you don't mind Alexandra, Mr. Coldwell is waiting--"
"I swear to God Nikolai, if you won't tell me, I'm gonna force it out of you," I threatened, cutting him off, making his smile disappeared instantly.
"I dislike being threatened Alexandra...," he said grimly, and took a deep breath, before plastering a calm look once again, "but I guess, you really are serious right now," he trailed off as he smiled yet again, "...Okay, if you so wanna know, let's just say...I'm stirring a bit of a drama for the Harrington's...What I told Lauren...it was something that will really shake them up..."
"What is it?...And why tell her now?"
"I'm afraid that's all you need to know...Have a good early morning, Alexandra," he said, before eventually turning his back on me, leaving me curious and angry at the same time, thinking about what could he possibly knew something about the Harringtons that even Lauren probably didn't know, and why he decided to stir some drama after all those times? Lauren already had a lot on her plate, I wasn't sure how she was handling another problem Nikolai just gave her, right now.
Watching Nikolai as he got in the car, I fetched my phone from my pocket, dialing Mike's number immediately, before bringing up the phone to my ear, and waited, trailing my gaze at Cliff's car as it started moving.
"Hey boss, what's up?" he gladly greeted.
"Mike, I need you to follow Nikolai Makarov, but be stealthy in doing so...he's a very dangerous man..."
"I can do that boss...Did he do something to you?"
I subtly shook my head, "No...but I know he knows a lot of things that might help us," I explained vaguely, leaving the part about Lauren.
"Alright boss, I'll tell you whatever I could find..."
"Be careful Mike," I said, before ending the call. Taking a deep breath, I eventually hugged myself, feeling the cold breeze enveloped my body, before momentarily closing my eyes, taking in the calm surrounding, but still it didn't help as I kept on wondering where Lauren was, and what could she be doing right now. I just hoped she was alright, and she wasn't doing anything that might put her life in danger.
Clasping the phone on my hand, I suddenly felt it vibrated, making me somewhat jolt in place, and eventually looking at the caller ID, I saw her name, causing me to let out a huge sigh of relief, before answering the call.
