A/N- This is a little 'sneak peek' of the style I'm going for in my next story- long paragraphs and sometimes some long-ish, more 'advanced' words. Also I may be trying to create a more elegant aesthetic for my writing, or at least write so that you can imagine the scene happening or imagine the things I'm talking about, even a little bit. I hope you enjoy this last chapter!

I would like to thank I'minyourWiFi (they're one of my readers) for supporting me and leaving all those nice comments on my work and community tab. You actually brought my motivation up for this book quite a bit, and without you I probably would have stopped writing it altogether, so thank you very much for motivating me. And also many thanks to all my readers- yes, all of you- for being so amazing and reading this short story. I love you all! Now, onto the actual story.

As soon as you set foot in Mondstadt, you noticed that many things had changed. There were barriers that looked to be of hilichurl build strewn about the main road, and inside the town, Fatui were milling about as if it was Snezhnaya. The numbers of them had greatly increased, and the normal citizens of Mondstadt seemed to be getting crushed by them. All of them wore masks that were somehow all unique, and they were all looking at you with angry eyes.

"Is something wrong?" you asked them, feeling daring.

None of them spoke, just hung their heads and continued moving on slowly, uncaring of your barbed voice. They all walked together, as if they were one controlled form rather than multiple, sentient beings. It was quite eerie, and you felt Razor's shaking hand grab yours, holding on tightly to keep himself stable and to make his anxiety stop.

That was when you heard familiar voices from behind you, speaking in hushed tones, not wanting to be heard. Little did they know that they had already been heard, and that you were about to listen in on their conversation. You whispered to Lisa and Kaeya, and together, you moved inside the slow-moving mass of Fatui, converging on your targets.

In front of you now, Childe and Signora were sitting, whispering to each other. Their tones sounded rushed and it seemed like they were discussing an urgent event, something that really meant a lot to them- or, most likely, to the entire organization of the Fatui. You held out your hand, signaling Lisa, Razor, and Kaeya to stop so that you could listen to what they were saying from a safe distance.

"...but they said that Y/N had been killed! I know that they're incompetent, but surely they can't be that incompetent!" Signora was saying.

Childe was watching the Fatui walk by, in their one connected mass, but when he heard Signora insult the people who had hurt you, he turned back and looked at her, laughing quietly. His laugh was quiet, soft, and elegant, and to the unassuming passersby who knew nothing of his evil ways, they may think of him as a handsome, kind, and elegant man. But you knew better. He'd tricked you once too much to seduce you in that way!

"Why are you laughing at me like that, Tartaglia? Do we have a problem?" Signora asked, calling Childe by his true name rather than his alias, which was what he usually preferred to be called.

"You insult the people who tried to kill Y/N and her friends because they failed. But you didn't even try to hurt her. I don't think you have the right to insult those who have tried and have failed," he said.

Signora snarled like a wolf- no disrespect to wolves, they were ten times better than her- and got up from the table suddenly, dropping the cup of wine she had been drinking and looking directly into your eyes. Almost immediately, she recognized you, and with a snap of her fingers, she encased your feet in ice, making you unable to move.

Kaeya drew his sword, and Razor his claymore. Lisa stood ready with her catalyst. Suddenly, everyone was prepped for battle, except you. You hissed angrily, trying to kick at the ice and make it crack, but your feet were so strongly frozen that you couldn't even move them. Anger filled you, and you began to shout at Signora.

"You stupid bitch!" you yelled. "Set me free!"

The heavy, thick blade of a claymore slashed through the ice, freeing your feet in one swipe. You looked up and saw Razor's eyes glowing red with anger. He said nothing, just dived at Signora, along with Kaeya.

You and Lisa chose to fight Childe, who had drawn his bow from his back and was ready and raring to go. Lisa flung a little electrical shock ball at him, and he shot at it with his arrows, which had been powered up with hydro. The arrow transfixed the ball in midair, spreading the bolts of lightning down onto the pavement in front of him. Lisa looked shocked at the apparent worthlessness of that ability, but she quickly recovered and started firing more lightning bolts at him, this time not in ball form.

You drew your sword and charged, moving from side to side to dodge the flying hydro arrows that Childe was firing at you, then slicing upwards, aiming for his neck. With one smooth motion, he dodged your blade, then drew two daggers out of his pockets that were seemingly made completely out of hydro. He sliced at your shoulder, and you just barely managed to dodge it. His movement and attacks were very fast, and he was an expert at fighting. You had to remember to watch intently for openings in his defense. Exploiting those were the only way you would defeat him.

"Fight me with those daggers of yours, coward!" you dared the archer.

He laughed and slipped the bow and arrow quiver off of his back in one smooth, elegant motion, leaving only the water daggers in his hands.

You heard someone crying in pain from behind you and resisted the urge to turn around and look, just hoping that it was Signora or another Fatui and not one of your allies. You fought as hard as you could, without doubting yourself for one second. You parried, riposted, blocked, and did all that you could. In the end, Childe was strong, but you were stronger. You stabbed him in the chest, right next to his heart, and he fell to the ground, helpless and bleeding out rapidly.

Finally, you turned around to see if any of your friends were hurt. What you saw shocked you a bit. In the middle of a field of Fatui dead bodies, Kaeya and Lisa were holding on to a feral Razor, trying to stop him from hurting anyone else. The wolf boy's eyes were filled with rage, and his lips were twisted up in an ugly snarl, revealing his sharp fangs.

"Please, wolfie darling!" Lisa was crying out. "Don't go so crazy! You'll hurt the citizens!"

"We're done fighting now," Kaeya was saying, putting all the charm and attractiveness he possibly could into that sentence. "Please, Razor, stop it."

The wolf boy growled angrily, breaking free of their grip and running down the main street of Mondstadt, slashing wildly with his claymore.

You ran over to him and grabbed his shoulders, spinning him around so that he had to look at you.

"You need to stop, darling," you told him, gently yet firmly. "You're hurting innocent people."

His eyes met yours, and his rage immediately abated. He dropped his claymore to the ground, and he started to cry as you wrapped your arms around him in a hug.

"Razor is sorry," he kept on saying. "So sorry."

"It's okay, baby. Everything's okay," you murmured gently.

As you comforted Razor, you felt the familiar emotions of protectiveness and love rise up in your heart.

No matter what the consequences would be, no matter how much pain you would be put through, no matter the struggles....

You would protect this precious boy with your life.
