"That's good, Natalya. You're improving," Mick complimented Natalya while they were training together. She had adjusted to the routine of waking up early and then training hard with Mick the past three weeks. She had been incredibly sore after their first training sessions, but her muscles became used to it and she could sense that Mick knew what her body needed to recover and to get in a better shape for each training that would come. This was the first week they were starting with double training, a heavy one in the morning and then a light session of an hour in the evening. Natalya curled her fingers tighter around the bar, she could squat fifty kilos by now, and she felt the burn in her glutes and her legs. "Come on, five more," Mick said and she looked up at him with an annoyed glance, causing him to chuckle as he looked back at her through the mirror in front of them. Mick's smile disappeared as he was ready to spot her. Some music was playing in the background and Natalya focussed on her breathing.
She slowly squatted with the weight again. At the start, she was afraid she might not be able to carry the weight, but Mick had easily caught it in time when she took a bit too much. Natalya felt like the trust between them had increased. She repeated the action again till she reached the fifth time. She was trembling a little, but she managed to hold it. Mick lifted the weight along with her even before she finished, shoving the bar back into its holder. "Good one," Mick said contently, standing in front of her, dressed in the under armour wear he usually wore. Natalya nodded, grabbing her water bottle while her eyes glided over the dry-fit shirt that outlined the shape of his muscled upper body. Lando had been travelling back and forth between Moscow and London, he was busy and they hadn't talked much the past few weeks. Lando had come to look at her train a couple of times, but after a couple of minutes he'd have either an appointment or a phone call.
She had to admit, Mick had been a great distraction. Ever since they started over, they were dynamically training together and they even managed to have fun. "Have you spoken to him yet?" Mick suddenly asked, and she looked back up at him. "No," she replied, knowing he meant Lando without saying his name. "Maybe soon. He's busy though," she added, making Mick nod. "What about it?" Natalya asked. Mick shrugged, but she could notice there was something he wasn't saying. "He said he fell in love with you, however, I don't see him putting much effort in reestablishing the two of you," Mick said. It made Natalya let out a breathy laugh. "What are you saying?" she asked now, looking at one of his hands curled that around the bar behind her which she had just trained with. "Maybe he needs a little spark to remind him of what's his," Mick said, and she squinted her eyes at him, a small smile curling her lips. "If you have a crush on me, you can just tell me, Mick," she said, and it caused him to scoff.
"I'm saying that we should have a little fun and the whole process of him getting out of his shell will speed up ten times," Mick's eyes glanced over at her lips as he approached her a little more. "He's going to blame me for this," Natalya said, feeling his hot breath ghosting over her face and she slightly leaned back, her hand resting on his chest. "Easy there," she said, however, Mick could notice the curiosity in her eyes. "We're going to his club this evening, I'm sure we can just be a little flirty together," Mick suggested, with a small shrug of his shoulders. "Think about it. It can go the completely wrong direction or the right direction, but do you have anything to lose at this point?" Mick continued, stepping back from her and reaching for his towel on the floor, swinging it over his shoulder. "See you tonight, Natalya," Mick had a small grin on his face and Natalya watched him slide his phone out of the pocket of his sweats, and she shook her head slightly. She let out a breathy laugh when he was gone, and she reached for her own towel.
She adjusted her ponytail and brushed some sweaty hairs out of her face. Natalya knew that he was right, that she didn't have anything to lose at this point anyway. And maybe she should have a little fun instead of not being Lando's main focus. It was time she became his focus again.
