Hey there!! I wasn't planning to write a chapter today because of work but turns out I read my schedule wrong and got here an hour early 🤣
I figured why not and here we are! Lol

Cross POV
It's only been a few hours since I've been the locket's new guardian and already I'm fighting to protect it. Who would've known pirates would show up here of all places. Welp. That isn't relevant anymore. Right now, I've got to focus.
I'm currently surrounded by what is more opponents then I can fight off. So far I only know the glitchy skeletons special ability. Strings.I guess taking them out one by one isn't an option anymore.
Alright.
I take a deep breath as I look around me. Analysing my surroundings.
The two guys I knocked out earlier are being protected by the hole in the head guy. The glitchy skeleton is standing infront of them. To my left there's a red angry looking skeleton and on my right there's a guy wearing a cloak. There's a couple humans there as well.
Holy-
Suddenly, a red bones flew directly towards my face.
"Dammit" I thought as I dodge
I almost got hit by that one! His attacks seem faster then normal skeletons. I have to be careful.
I didn't have time to think further as I duck down to avoid another assault of red bones.
Shit. This is going too fast.
Not even a second later, the sleeve of my shirt got torn of by a huge scyth.
I hold my breath.
This won't work. I have to attack.
I let out a deep sigh...
I start bolting towards the red edgy guy. If I can just take him out, I wouldn't have to dodge long range assaults.
As I ran, the glitchy skeleton threw his strings my way. I manage to avoid some of them by jumping around a bit. I cut the other strings that I couldn't dodge with quick swings of my sword.
" FelL MoVe!!"
Dammit. That guy's a pain in my-
The red skeleton steps backwards as I swing at him, aiming for his chest.
"F*CK" he swears
I managed to barely graze him, burning a few of his ribs in the process.
"Again"
That voice....
Chara?...
No!
Focus Cross.
I once again charge at the red skeleton, this time aiming for his head.
He didn't get to dodge it. I sliced directly across his right eye socket.
"SH*T" he yelled.
"FElL! GeT tHe HeLL oUt oF ThErE!!"
I look back at the glitch skeleton. He moved to behind me. Just as I notice him, I got tackled by someone else.
"Geez, how many of you are there?"
I open my eyes to see the guys with the huge crack in his skull raising his axe, looking like he was aiming at my face.
Oh god.
Oh this is not good.
I try to get him off by kicking him but he seemed totally unbothered by it.
"Hey there, fresh meat~" he said drooling a bit. I shut my eyes tightly.
Oh god...
Wait...why am I not dead?
I open my eyes again to see that I was now standing up.
What the..
I look up to find that I was standing a few meters away from the other skeletons. They looked as shoked as I was.
Did I just....teleport?
HOW?
I look down at the locket, who was shining a bit under my coat.
I see...
The locket has magic!
I look up again to look at my opponents who were now looking at me like I was some kind of alien.
I summon my sword once again and didn't wait for the others to attack first.
I dashed threw the ruins and swing my sword towards the glitchy skeleton once again.
Using his shock as a distraction to get closer.
My movement was cut short by something hitting me on the head.
"Shit.." I say as I got dizzy
This isn't good
The last thing I see before everything went black were what looked like goopy tentacles.
Then I fell into darkness.....

Nightmare POV
...
This guy...
Who is he? He already managed to knock out two of my best crew members and injured an other.
"C--t-iN?"
He...teleported. After years of research and reading books about magic to try to figure out mine... I've never heard of teleportation magic..
Interesting.
"C-P---N?"
If he's the only one here then he must be the cause of the negativity wave....
"CaPtAiN!!"
I flinch as I was brought back from my thoughts by my second in command.
"What is it Error"
We are currently standing in the ruins of this village, I am just a few feet away from the monochrome skeleton that attacked my crew. Error looked like he was waiting for the next instructions.
"WhAT dO We dO nOw? iS hE tHe-"
" If he's the only one here than yes, I believe he is the cause" i cut him off before he says too much
"I sEe.."
"Bring the injured back to the ship. We are leaving. There isn't anything left here except for....him. Tell Horror to put this guy in the cell. I want him ALIVE"
I say, making sure he understands before walking back to the ship.
"RoUnD uP bOyS, We'Re lEaViNg. BrIng tHe InJuReD tO tHe mEdDiC aNd---" I hear Error inform the crew, to far now to hear the rest of what he's saying.
I sigh...this is more trouble than I anticipated...
I start to get lost in thought again, now on board, I walk back to my study...
My thoughts trailing back to that skeleton...
I start to pick out every book about magic on my shelf.
I'm gonna figure this out one way or another...
