Okay so this chapter is a bit sad but it's cute

Louis stepped into the living room, trying to steady his breathing. This was it- he was going to come out to his mom. He'd already told his favorite sister, Charlotte, and she completely supported him- like she's always done.

"Mum?" Louis asked softly, summoning the woman's attention. Louis's mom, nicknamed Jay, looked up from her book and smiled at her only son.

"Hey, Lou, how are you?"

"I'm good. What are you reading?"

"The Bible."

Great.

Louis fidgeted with his hands and sat in the armchair he preferred of all the seats in the house.

"I need to talk to you," Louis mumbled, tangling his fingers together.

"Okay, love. About what?"

"As you know, I've always been a little.... You know... Different. A little more sassy and girly than other boys," Louis started.

"Well... God does not judge based on personality."

"Yeah, yeah. But, like, Mum, there's a reason I've never been like the other guys."

Jay raised an expectant eyebrow and Louis sighed.

"And why is that, Louis?"

"I... I'm... OkaysodonotbemadbutI'mgay. I'msorry."

Jay sort of stared at her only son because she only caught a bit of his sentence, and she blinked before coughing.

"Louis, baby, you're going to have to slow down."

"I... I like g-guys, Mum."

Jay blinked a few times, observing her usually smiling son, before returning her eyes to her book.

She didn't speak for five minutes, so Louis just got up and left.

Jay never really said anything to hurt Louis's feelings. In fact, Jay never really said anything to him at all anymore. She spoke to him in front of his sisters, but Charlotte noticed the lack of attention Jay gave Louis.

Soon, Louis told his other sisters and, eventually, his friends.

Here is where a little flame caught the whole forest on fire.

Louis's best friend, Chad Ernreat, turned on Louis. He happened to be highly homophobic, but Louis honestly expected it. He went to a catholic school and gays were looked down upon.

"All God's children," the teacher's would repeat, but once Chad has spread Louis's secret, the teacher's would ignore him in class and avoid coming near the lad.

As if he had a disease.

Louis wasn't always the sassy lad he was now.

Back then, he was a bit reserved. Loud, but he kept hi snide comments to himself.

This resulted into Louis getting beaten.

Eventually, the school's headmistress had to call Louis's mother about the beatings.
