Gone.

Is this all what life is going to be like?

One person or two people get killed, another gets executed?

Is that really all we're going to know in life?

"Kuro! Are you ok? Can you talk to us?" Ichigo asked, concerned.

"D-do you need s-something to help y-you breathe better?" Hirohito asked.

"Please tell me your voice isn't damaged?" Toshiaki asked.

"I'm fine...she didn't crush my windpipe," I said, my voice feel hoarse.

"Well if you need rest, we can leave now...there's no point in staying here," Robin said, glancing at Monkomi who was watching us.

I nodded and we left the trial room.

I went to my room but not before noticing that Toshino gave me a worried look.

I rubbed my neck.

Why did Sora wanted to kill me? And why did she changed her plan? I thought.

I sat on my bed, thinking.

I can't afford to waste the one free day that we get after the trial. I have to make use of it before Monkomi sets up the new motive. With a new motive, the cycle continues. I have to make sure that this doesn't repeat itself!

I'm not going to allow anyone else dying! I can't allow anyone else to die, whether by someone's hands or they die right in front of my eyes!

I made a fist and punched the covers of my bed.

I will put an end to this!

(???'s PoV)

"Everyone is growing impatient [Redacted]," a soft voice said.

I turned to look at them.

"I'm trying the best I can. I'm not very good with computers like you are. Or like those two," I sighed.

They walked up to me and gave me a hug.

"I know you are. I know how sincerely hard you are trying, but they are all feeling impatient with you. They want results. I tried telling them that you are trying and that it isn't your fault that this is taking so slow," they explained.

I let out a sigh.

"But let me guess, that's not a good enough excuse for them."

They gave me a sad smile.

"I'll keep working on it. Hopefully the avatar keeps things looking calm. If the avatar dies, then only him would be standing in the way of the thing being corrupted," I explained.

"Only two keys held together that keeps things alive...Kirigiri came up with that idea right?" They asked.

"The avatar idea yes but the first key was already programmed in by him. The mastermind would do anything to get rid of both," I explained.

"Let's hope that doesn't happen," they said.

I smiled.
