Bryn Does Some Explaining

Ember screamed, Connor went limp, and then everything went black. Well. For me it did. I, Bryn Oliveira, have never fainted in my life. When I woke up, my usually braided hair was strewn across my face. Sam seemed to have been getting better, but he still was a bit nervous. Poor Sam. His usually peanut brown complexion was paler than usual, and his hair wasn't gelled the way it should be. Allow me to explain.

Back in Cuba, there was a man named Omõro "Toro" Bengùelà. He had a girlfriend, and they were to be married, but a tsunami hit the place where they were, wiping out his family, friends, and Maria, his now late fiancee. He was so angry, he blamed the US government for this tsunami, and ended up filing a lawsuit. When the US government shutdown the case in the blink of an eye, he went on mass murder spree and ended up nearly killing 1000 people in the courthouse that day. We were there, and clearly we survived. Thanks to Ember's camouflage ability, the 4 of us escaped, but not without injuries. Sam took the brunt of it, getting shot in the shoulder with an angry bullet. Omõro went on to be in jail, but ended up getting a woman pregnant with his daughter in the process. She's 11 now, while we are only 14-15. However, this case happened only a year ago, and Omõro's daughter was born 3 months ago. Omõro snuck his daughter a serum to make her mature quickly, and wanted her to continue his legacy. Her name is Amàya, but she takes on the nickname Toro in Fuego, or "Bull on Fire". She traces her lineage back to ancient Aztec warriors, and tends to fight that way. She uses poison dart frog spears, and is most of the time an emotional wreck, fueling off her emotions. Amàya has been living near Mauna Loa for the past few months, and she blipped off our radar. "Code Scarlet" is our warning applying only to Amàya, and she has hatched something awful this time, I know. She's back on our radar, but more powerful than ever. Her worst crime now? Torturing people with lava. She's broken her father out of prison, moved back to Cuba, and killed her own mother and step-family for not letting her in the house. Amàya and her father are now ruling Cuba, or what's left of it. The Bengùelà dynasty has ruined our trust with Cuba and endangered the US, Mexico, and the rest of the countries in the area. It really didn't help that she also has a mind for killing innocent animals.

Connor took Ember's hand and pulled her close to him as Sam told what happened. I speed-dialed Noel, one of my best friends/FBI partners (who was in Nigeria with Jacob) and told her between sobs what happened. Sam did his best to comfort me, but it was no use. Andie and Drew arrived within the hour, and Camryn and Ben came soon after. Noel and Jacob were to catch the next flight over to the Florida Keys and meet us at the secret house.
