Drew reached for my hand and I breathlessly took it. He's sooooooooo sweet! I mean, I know it's time for battle, but can't I romanticize this? Drew gave me a lingering peck on the lips, and I immediately wished it was longer. Drew seemed to be thinking the same, but he had said before that if we made it out of this battle that he would never leave my side. I can't imagine what else would be better right now then just kissing Drew, but I guess we have to fight. I hugged him and he kissed me for a few seconds and then pulled away slowly. It was time to get to our stations. Drew and I took our place near a window. Jacob gave the go signal from the bushes and we hooked ourselves up onto the window ledge with a grappling hook and began to scale the wall. When we were at the top, we unhooked and tip toed into the room. We saw two unexplainably hot guys monitoring the security cameras with their backs turned. Drew sensed my "attraction" to the guys so he totally went off plan and hurled what he thought was a grenade but was actually an oversized olive at the computers. I facepalmed. Drew could get territorial when it comes to guys checking me out. The guards turned, but we were quicker. We switched into zooplankton and plopped onto the floor. The guards were very stupid and quite confused so they grabbed some bread and started eating the olive with it. We changed back and I dragged Drew to the corner nearby.
"Drew! You could've gotten us both killed!" I hissed.
"I'm sorry Andie. I just got jealous. You truly are the most amazing girl I've ever met, and I don't want to lose you," he whispered, ashamed.
"Drew..."
"Oh please don't tell me you're breaking up with me..."
"No Drew. I just... never knew you felt that way for me. I... I think this is more than a schoolyard crush, on both ends."
"Are you... are you saying...?"
"Drew I think we're in love with each other."
As I delivered the truth about our relationship, the ashamed Drew, the scared Drew, and the worried Drew that I was talking to vanished. In its place formed the happiest Drew I had seen in awhile. His face brightened, his eyes sparkled, and his hair seemed way shinier. He kissed me gently, but a lot of love was poured into the kiss. Unbeknownst to us, the guards turned and looked at us, still kissing. However, instead of attacking, they both practically melted from the happiness radiating off of us. They both became smitten with awwwwwws and then left the room to "give us privacy", whatever that means. As Drew and I pulled away, he smiled at me.
"Mission accomplished." Drew said.
"Which one?" I inquired.
"Both."
"Both?"
"Yup. Our mission given by Jacob was to distract the security guards and maintain the cameras. My personal mission was to tell you how I felt."
"Well then, missions accomplished!" Then I gave him another kiss and then texted Jacob that we were in position.
