I rush to my room as soon as I get home. I open the door and find Alan pacing up and down.

"What the.."

"Mind the language Kiki," he says and smirks.

" What do you want?"

"I'm here for my lesson. Scott said I should see you as soon as possible if I want to redeem my grades and if you want to keep your place at Greenwood high," He says.

"Did he tell you to invade my room too?"

"No your mom and dad said I could come up here and wait for you, You have a pretty mom by the way."

"Whoah! Hold up what do you mean my mom and dad told you to come up here? Mom is in well I don't know which country and dad Is....." I couldn't finish the sentence as my dad decided to barge in my room at that moment.

"Kiki my girl look at you! Come and hug Papa." He said as if he was addressing a nine-year-old.

I stared at my dad incredulously. I couldn't believe that he was here. He must have seen my shock as he came and scooped me up in his arms as he used to when I was a kid.

"Argh, dad put me down. I'm not a kid anymore ok?" I said and hugged him. He still looked like a movie star despite being a director.

"I missed you too my girl and this young man was telling us what a good student you were." I chose that moment to look at Walker and I could see he was struggling to hold in his laughter.

"Sure dad where is mom? And why did you let this "young man" that you don't know into your home?" I asked to piss Alan off and he just shrugged it off.

"He came here to study with you and he is good at chess. I like him but let me go and get your mom, she went to the garden. Something about getting vegetables for dinner," My dad answered me and I felt my heart sink.

Here is the thing, My mom is a diet junkie and that's one of the reasons why I hate her guts ok maybe a little but yeah. So You can understand me when I wanted to run away at that time and never come back home. I hate eating greens and the Bible even supports that we should eat meat right? I'm not sure about that too but hey.

Dad kissed me on my forehead and fist-bumped Alan like an old buddy of his from the war. He strode out of my room and when he was about to exit the room he looked back and crushed my spirits,

"Kiki, we will be attending your consultation, my love. I can't wait to see your teachers." And with that good news, he left my room.

"You look like someone stole your candy," Alan said and burst out laughing.

I picked my pillow from the bed and threw it at his face. He picked another one and approached me slowly. I raised my hands in surrender but he only laughed at me and I decided to run whilst he chased me around the room. You can guess what happened right? We had a pillow fight and after a while, we stopped.

"Your parents seem like cool people," Alan noted whilst we sat down on the flow at the foot of my bed.

"I wouldn't know. They are never here you know." I said and continued,

"But let's just ignore that for now. What the hell am I gonna do about my lovely reputation?" I asked him and I was surprised to find him looking at my face.

"What?" I asked.

"Uhh, nothing and don't forget we also have to deal with my grades too. Mom said she is also attending my consultation," he said.

"Oh no, oh no, you know we are doomed, right? I mean omg..." I couldn't finish my sentence as Alan engulfed me in a hug. At first, I was too stunned to react but I returned the hug after some seconds.

"Calm down." He whispered in my ear and I felt goosebumps on my skin. My heart started to beat faster and I pulled away.

"Thanks, Alan," I said and I might have blushed.

"Welcome, now we need to come up with a plan to save our sorry selves."

I smiled and said, "let me change out of these clothes first."

"Why? You look beautiful in that dress." Alan noted and I rushed to my walk-In closet.

I pulled a pair of white skinny jeans and a black crop top. I then took a black hoodie to finish up the look. I put on my running shoes and went out.

"Let's get out of here," I said to Alan and he smirked.

"My thoughts exactly but we must stop at my place first. I forgot my books at home."

"Then why were you here?" I said and burst out laughing.

"How did my parents even let you in without a backpack to show that you were here to study?" I asked him and he shrugged his shoulders.

"I'm cool like that ok?" He said and I grabbed my backpack and together we both left my room.

You might be wondering why I wasn't looking for my mom but I wasn't in the mood for a full-on inspection and tips on how I should wear makeup. as we were about to reach the front door I spotted my mom with my dad coming to the house and I decided that maybe just maybe the backdoor wasn't a bad idea.
