Everyone left after the visiting hours were over. Kiara wasn't strong enough to go home which she wasn't pleased about. I went back home to my new house and took a bath. I changed into comfortable clothes whilst mom prepared dinner for me.

She was taking this whole stay at home thing seriously but I was still worried about her cooking skills. We had moved into house and it was so nice and quiet. Mom had visited Kiara a few times in the hospital when she was still unconscious. She was even hanging out with her mom sometimes since they said they had a lot in common. I did want to know the lot they had in common.

Ever since I found out Kiara had been sick I blamed myself. I was a mess but it was nothing compared to what her parents were feeling. Everyone felt sure that it was their fault that she had gone through so much alone. She had always been alone with no one to take care of her.

Shane kept saying if he hadn't left then Kiara would have had someone in her life. I had just started to adjust to my new life. I had someone whom I loved but the thought of her dying scared me. I needed to be happy too. I couldn't stand losing her. Artemis disappeared or so we thought since we didn't see her anywhere with her crew.

"Alan are you done? I made Kiara some healthy food." Mom shouted.

I resisted the urge to laugh. Kiara hated healthy food with all her heart. I had a free pass from her doctor to visit her anytime so my plan had been to sneak out without mom seeing me. As I was busy thinking of ways to evade my mom Kiara's mom walked in. Yeah, she was now a regular and I'm sure she even had a spare key to our home. Mom had one to their mansion. Women!

"Yolanda how are you?" Cynthia hugged her. She ignored me but as I tried to open the door they both grabbed me.

My mom smirked, "And where do you think you are going without Kiara's food huh?"

"He thinks he is clever now get that food and don't even think about doing crazy stuff without protection. I'm too young and fabulous to be a grandma." Cynthia laughed.

Thankfully I had nothing in my mouth because I would have chocked. I blushed and grabbed the lunch bag as they both burst out laughing at me.
I still drove Kiara's car around. It was the only thing I had that reminded me of her. The relief I felt when she woke up was amazing.

I grabbed the lunch bag and rushed out of the house. I could hear them laughing behind my back. Kiara was so not gonna love this combination.
I found her sitting on the couch in her room typing on her laptop.

She had changed into comfortable clothes. A hoodie and some black track pants. Her hair was neatly tied which was also another surprise. She looked up and grinned when she saw me. I immediately went to give her a big hug. We stayed like that for a few minutes.

"I missed you Walker," She sobbed hugging me even tighter.

"I missed you more Kiki but careful on the hug babe." I chuckled.

She slowly pulled away, "Aren't you gonna lock the door Alan. Shane might just.."

I didn't need to be told twice as I rushed to look the door. I needed some time alone with my girlfriend.

"What were you working on?" I asked lifting her to the hospital bed. She could walk but I wanted to feel her in my arms.

She wrapped her arms around my neck.

"My design proposal for my final year project in Technical Graphics. I was bored so I figured I might as well start."

I guess she was a genius and a nerd though she tried hard to cover it up.
I gently laid her on the bed and she patted the space next to her. I obeyed.

"Take it easy Miss genius you just woke up from a comma." I teased.

She ignored me and snuggled in my arms. Now this was pushing it too far. I was a guy too plus I had been trying by all means to control my feelings because she was sick. She might have guessed what was on my mind because she suddenly kissed me full on the lips.

"Kiara please, I won't be able to stop if we do this." I pleaded but deep down I knew there was no going back.

"Then don't." Was her response.

I kissed her back hungrily. She smelled great and her cologne hypnotized me. I was going crazy for this girl. I felt her hand on my torso which only made me deepen the kiss. I wasn't going to stop. It was too late now. I ran my hands underneath her hoodie only to realize that she had nothing underneath.

Damn Kiara! She had me under her spell and she knew it.

"So do you like my hoodie Walker?" She whispered in ear making me go even crazier.

"I love it," I grinned pulling her in for a kiss again.

Kiara responded by running her hands in my hair. I pulled her even closer as we continued exploring each other. When I pulled her hoodie over her head, I knew there was no going back. We were so engrossed in our making out and lovemaking that we forgot the world.

I forgot my pain and she forgot hers. The only problem was that we were in for another surprise. We had forgotten to be rational and we were going to pay dearly for our mistake. Maybe our mothers had been right after all.
