A hurried Vrishali slipped into their bedroom for a last-minute check. Padmanabh was sitting near the vanity chair. He turned around and watched Vrishali go through her closet. A smile played on his face. He knew she had forgotten something at the last minute.
"Have you seen my long Haram? You know the one you got me from Tamil Nadu. I can't find it," Vrishali says, going through the other jewellery Padmanabh had arranged for her in the locker. Padmanabh's gaze goes to his hand, on top of a jewellery box.
"Oh, are you talking about this?" Vrishali stopped looking. She stood straight and wandered into the bedroom where Padmanabh was sitting. A relief sigh left her body. "It is with you. I have been thinking of it and couldn't find it."
Padmanabh smiled. "I know you wanted to wear this to the wedding. I was packing it." Vrishali beamed and sat on his lap while Padmanabh wrapped his arm around her waist. "Getting things and packing everything without forgetting is hectic." Vrishali relaxed in his lap and leaned back as Padmanabh placed his chin on her shoulder.
"But you have me. You don't have to worry about anything, even if you forget it. I always arrange for someone to get it on time." Vrishali laughed and hummed. "I know."
They sat there for another fifteen minutes. Humming and nibbling at each other. They have packed their luggage last night and early this morning. Vrishali had to go shopping with Padmanabh to get last-minute things that she had forgotten to get last week when she went shopping with her cousins and mother.
"Do you think I would look good in that rustic orange lehenga? I loved it, but I'm not sure if it would suit my dusky tone," Vrishali says, and Padmanabh stops tracing his fingers on her arms. "You look beautiful in everything. You would be wonderful wearing that rustic orange lehenga. You have a beautiful tone and even a beautiful heart and smile."
Vrishali lets out a laughter. "I'm flattered and charmed."
"As you should be." Vrishali playfully swapt his arm as they waited for her cousins. "Jamal will be here in a minute. He will keep the luggage out."
"Okay." Vrishali hums a song. "Are we going in our car or will they be picking us up?"
"I don't think there would be enough space. Jamal will drop us at the airport. Our flight is at 2: 15 pm. You can ask your cousins to join us."
"I don't think they would join us."
"Okay." Vrishali turned her head and looked at him in the eye. "You know what I think?"
"Hmm?" Vrishali closer, her breath fanning his face. "I think we need to kiss in these free minutes." Padmanabh gave her an amused smile. "Oh, should we?"
"Yes." Vrishali didn't wait for his reply, she pulled him closer and kissed his lips. Padmanabh held her closer to his heart and deepened the kiss.
