Zeiden was quick to ditch dinner without anyone suspecting anything, which was a relief. He knew that he'd probably get in trouble for not letting Isaiah know where he was going. However, he should be fine, since he told Adrik before leaving. Besides, he was only going to take an hour or two. No one will even notice that he'd left the house. They'll probably just think he's cooped up in his room or training in the gym, which he usually would do on a normal day.

Damn, Zeiden cursed because he sounded like he was reassuring himself.

Zeiden sighed wearily, but he continued to set up his bike to leave. He took a seat when he spotted the flames on the bike, that Ronin had painted onto black metal of the front and back. The details looked killer, he definitely had to thank Ronin for doing such an exceptional job.

Zeiden reached for the helmet but he didn't find it on the handle of the bike. Ronin must have moved it so it wouldn't get dirty. Looking around him, there wasn't any hint of it. Zeiden ditched the helmet tonight and left the garage and the gates of the house without making a sound.

Zeiden drove speedily since it was late, so there wasn't any traffic to stop him from pressing on the accelerator. The white street lights flashed by him as he navigated down the empty night roads. Zeiden's black bike was barely visible, since it was dark around him, but the blaze of the red paint on the bike glowed as he speeded by.

Zeiden admitted that his mood was a bit off tonight. So, the cool night breeze that washed over him, as he cut through the lanes, exhilarated every nerve and cell in his body. He felt a little better being out at night with no distractions or noise. Although, it wasn't long lasted.

Once he had arrived, Zeiden parked the bike outside the large skyscraper. However, he hadn't gotten off yet. For the first time in a long time, Zeiden hesitated. He couldn't help but be nervous before going upstairs to meet Marcello, because he didn't know how Marcello was going to react right now.

Why wasn't this easy? Zeiden asked the universe or their goddess; if she existed.

Zeiden never would have thought that out of all people he'd actually feel confused by being with his mate. Mates were supposed to clear the path and help them become better by being together, like Ashley was with Isaiah. Zeiden wanted a bond like that, not a bond that was dead before it even began.

Zeiden didn't want to give up though. He wasn't going to let this die because having a bond was special to him.

He got off his bike and went inside to meet Marcello. The building was dark, but busy as always. Marcello's security team were positioned at their stations and guarding their boss's home diligently.

"Oh, it's you again," the bald man who was always at the front spoke first.

Zeiden smiled although he wasn't really happy right now. "You keep calling me 'you', it's getting annoying," he said as he walked up to the man. "My name is Zeiden. What's yours?"

The big, bald man looked to his partners with a deep frown on his face. "I'm Percy," he replied.

"Hi, Percy," said Zeiden. "I'm here to meet Marcello."

Percy laced his hands in front of him and sighed. "Boss isn't taking guests right now," he told him.

"He'll want to see me," responded Zeiden.

"No, he doesn't want to be disturbed," insisted Percy.

"Not even if it's by his mate," declared Zeiden because he was getting really annoyed.
