Six o'clock had arrived and Rosalie was still busy around the academy. Some of her student's parents chose today of all days to check on their children's progress. Rosalie didn't want to sound rude by sending them off, especially not since she barely just opened the school and met these people only for the second time now. However, Vivian, Evelyn and Lazarus were waiting in the foyer patiently for her as more than half an hour went by.
Rosalie's eyes kept trailing back to the clock and she knew that the parents were starting to take notice too. "Okay, I'm sorry-" she interrupted Julia's mother. "Can you excuse me for just a moment."
"Er- sure," Julia's mom was stumped.
Rosalie rushed out of the office and ran up to Lazarus and the girls. "You guys go on ahead. This is going to take time," she told them.
The tall, blond haired Iron Blood pack beta turned to look at her with his sharp green eyes. "Are you sure?" asked Lazarus.
"Yes, it's fine. Can you just text me the address, so I can pick Vivian up after you're done," she requested.
"Don't worry about that we'll pick you up too," said Lazarus.
Rosalie nodded. "Okay, thanks," she turned and bent over to Vivian. She fixed the collar of her shirt and pushed her hair behind her shoulder. "Are you sure you're going to be alright on your own?"
Vivian bobbed her head. "I'll be fine, aunt Rosa. Evelyn's with me," she told her.
"I won't take long here," said Rosalie. "And if you don't like it there, then you call me straight away. I'll race over to rescue you."
Vivian peeked a smile. "Okay," she answered.
Rosalie kissed her cheek. "Okay. Have fun and study well," she said. Evelyn and Vivian walked on ahead. "Um, Lazarus," she called out.
Lazarus turned, his eyes met hers. "Yes?" he said.
"Please take care of her," Rosalie knew she sounded melodramatic and weird, but she didn't care when it involved Vivian.
Lazarus showed a smile; a genuine smile. "I will like she is my own," he replied confidently and followed the girls to the car.
Rosalie fluttered with reassurance because it seemed that whenever the Iron pack wolves looked determined, it was hard to rebuke them.
"Alright, Rosalie," she spoke to herself with a firm tone, "you're not done yet." She returned to the parents in her office.
-Adrik's POV-
Adrik came up from the basement gym over to the first floor. He had exhausted himself by literally using every piece of equipment down there. Usually, he wasn't so intense with his training. But he didn't want to lose his cool like he had done that night in the alley. So, the best way he knew to put his body and wolf to rest was to work himself until his bones were goo.
After, cleaning up from the shower Adrik had changed into comfortable pair of jeans and a black sweater. He didn't bother drying his wet hair, which the warm breeze would take care of regardless.
Adrik went to the quiet kitchen where only Zeiden sat looking lost in thought on the tall stool. In front of the man were multiple empty wrappers and the bright blue Twinkie box left wide open.
Adrik entered the kitchen and stopped beside Zeiden. "What are you doing?" he asked.
"Stress eating," he answered with a mouthful of Twinkie. "I do it when I'm stressed."
