Chapter 36: May The Best Shipper Win

   "Mira, look out!" Laxus shouted as a beam of black light shot out just above his shoulder.

   "Umph..." she grunted  as the beam knocked hit her in the stomach.

   "You've got to be more careful," he sighed, steadying her.

   "I know..." she whispered through clenched teeth, "I'm almost out of magic power..."

   He looked ahead at their two opponents, "It's alright... I've got this one..."

   Nodding, she smiled.

   "Okay... who's ready to die?" he smirked and took a step forward.

   "Um... Luke?" one of the two opponents glanced at her partner (also know as Luke).

   "You ready, Mary?" Luke smirked and flashed her a grin.

   "As always," she sighed, "I can't believe those flies actually think they can beat us..."

   "Then let's just end this quickly," he turned his attention back to Laxus.

   "Wait..." Laxus' eyes narrowed, "Are you two like..."

   "WE'VE FOUND A NEW SHIP!" Mira squealed as she returned to her normal form.

   "W-what?" Luke's eyes widened.

   "What are you talking about," Mary eyed them, "Aren't you two dating?"

   "W-well..." Mira hesitated.

   "Yes, we are," Laxus answered bluntly.

   Mary's face split into a grin, "Luke! Aren't they adorable together?!"

   Luke looked extremely confused, "B-but... a-aren't they from-"

   "Um... Laxus?" Mira's face had turned the shade of a ripe tomato, "Y-you... you never asked..."

   He shrugged, "Well, I'm asking now."

   Her eyes widened, "You can't just-"

   "Mira, will you be my girlfriend?" he stared at her.

   "What do you think, dummy?!" she punched him lightly in the arm.

   Mary was currently melting, "Awwwwe! That's so cute!"

   "Do you want you camera?" Luke dug into his pocket.

   "Yes!" she brightened up, "Hurry! I don't want to miss it!"

   He tossed her the camera and she snapped a picture in lightning speed.

   Mira blinked. "What just happened?"

   "I think she just took our picture..." Laxus stared, open mouthed.

   "It's so cute!" Mary squealed, clutching her camera in her hand.

   "Whatever..." Luke rolled his eyes, but was smiling.

   Mira's ears twitched. Spinning around, she caught her camera as Laxus tossed it to her. "There!" she stopped to face Juvia and Gray fighting together. Snapping a picture of the two, she sighed in relief, "I'm glad I caught that one..."

   Mary gaped at her, "YOU HAVE SHIPPING REFLEXES TOO?!"

   "Wait... don't tell me..." Mira's eyes glistened.
