Four Years Later (Peter Parker/Spiderman)

Five Month Anniversary

I walked up to Peter's room, pushing the door open quietly. I smiled to myself when I saw him still asleep, the covers covering half of his face. Slipping inside the room, I shut the door behind me and walked over to him. As soon as I stopped beside his bed, his phone lit up with a new text. I raised an eyebrow and looked down at Peter again before picking his phone up, opening the text.

Can't wait to see you tonight! It's been one of the best months of my life since you've been in it, babe. :)
My heart fell to my stomach as I read the words over and over again. Who the hell is Lexie and why does it have a heart emoji beside of her name? I slowly typed out a reply.

This is Peter's girlfriend. Would you mind telling me exactly what the hell you're talking about?
I looked at Peter again, who was now laying with his back facing me. I wiped the stray tears I felt falling down my cheeks away before looking down at the reply that was sent.

Girlfriend? I don't think so. I've been his girlfriend this past month.
I chuckled sarcastically aloud, causing Peter to jump and turn to face me. He glanced at his phone then back to my face, "Um, what are you doing?"

"What am I doing? No, Peter, what are you doing? You've been dating someone else for a month?" I yelled, throwing his phone at him, "A whole month, Peter! If you weren't happy, you could have told me and we could have broken up so you could be with this Lexie character." I spat, crossing my arms.

His eyes widened as I was yelling, soon standing directly in front of me, "Maddie-"

"Why didn't you just tell me?" I whispered, the tears now falling down my cheeks, "I would have understood."

Peter shook his head, "I don't know."

"So, while I was thinking you were out fighting crime, you were.."

"Yeah." he mumbled, running a hand through his hair, "I was with her."

I shook my head and backed away from him, "I never expected this from you."

He remained quiet, staring down at the floor as I opened the door.

"It's over, Peter. I hope you explain to Lexie what you've done so at least she's not too upset about it." and with that, I slammed the door closed and quickly ran out of the house.

I pulled my hood over my head, crossing my arms and quickly walking down the street. First I lose Gwen, now I've lost Peter. I let out a shaky breath and wiped  my face clear from the tears. And to think today was our five month anniversary..
