"Oh God." I muttered, looking down at my pictures in the transparent envelope.

"Hey, Maddie!" I heard the familiar voice of my best friend since we were born yell, "How'd your pictures turn out?"

"Not too good, Peter." I frowned, "It's our freshman year and it's already going bad."

"Don't say that. Here, smile." he stated, holding up his camera.

I chuckled and did as told, smiling brightly into his camera. Peter absolutely loved taking pictures. It's more of an obsession than a hobby, if you ask me. I don't understand it. I mean, what's so fun about taking pictures of people and other things?

"That was a good one." he nodded, letting the camera fall against his scrawny chest, "C'mon, Mads. Cheer up! Your thirteenth birthday is this weekend."

I opened my mouth to reply, only to hear, "Hey, Madison. How did your pictures turn out?"

I turned around, seeing practically the most popular girls in the school, "Oh, um. Not the best." I told the leader, Gwen.

"Oh, mine didn't turn out good either." she sighed, flipping her blonde hair over her shoulder.

"Are you kidding?" one of her followers asked, "You looked amazing, Gwen."

"Well." she shrugged, holding the pictures up in my face.

I smiled and nodded slightly, "They're great."

"I know. Anyways, we would love to come to your birthday party this weekend, but we have a group English paper due Monday. The bad part is that Flash told us he was going to come also, but when we told him we couldn't go.. well.." Gwen sighed, looking down at me, "We're real sorry."

I blushed at the mention of Flash, my crush since seventh grade. I bit my bottom lip, "Um. I could write it for you."

"Great! We'll make sure to tell Flash we're going now. See you then!" she smiled before walking around me, "See you, loser." she stated, pushing Peter out of the way.

He sighed loudly, "I really hate those girls." he muttered, "I'll see you after school." Peter stated before smiling and taking another picture of me before walking towards his classroom.

"Stop." I giggled, at Peter, who continuously took random pictures of me.

"You're photogenic. I bet ninety-nine percent of these look great."

"What about the other one percent?"

"You made a weird face." he shrugged, walking towards his house, "See you tomorrow."

"Alright, text me!" I replied, walking up to my own house.

He nodded and ran up the yard to his front door. I smiled to myself and pushed open my own front door, calling out to my parents that I was home.

I looked around the basement, nodding slightly at the red and blue streamers and balloons decorating the room with food on the table. Good enough. I ran a hand through my hair and looked towards the stairs, seeing Peter jogging down them with a large object in his arm covered by a sheet, "What's that?"

"Your birthday present." he smiled, setting it down on the table, "Go ahead. Look."

I did as told, smiling when I saw a squared box picture frame, pictures of him and I in the slots, "I love it!" I smiled, hugging him tightly.

"Look. Wish dust." he stated, pulling a red packet out of his pocket, "It'll make any wish you make come true."

I watched as Peter opened the small packet, pouring the dust, which actually looked like a lot of glitter, onto the top of the picture frame. I closed my eyes for a few seconds, only for them to shoot open as the doorbell rang, "This is great, Peter. I'm going to put this in the closet so it doesn't get ruined." I told him quickly, picking it up and pushing it onto the top shelf, "Put on some music!" I yelled down to him as I ran up the stairs.

I fixed my hair and clothes before taking in a deep breath and opening the door, seeing Gwen and her usual group, plus Flash in the back. I bit my bottom lip, "Come on in. The party's downstairs."

They quickly pushed pasted me, jogging down the stairs where I could hear a Aerosmith song playing. I facepalmed myself. Leave it to Peter to play his uncle's music.. I shook my head and closed the door, running downstairs. Peter looked around at everyone before looking at me. I smiled innocently and he shook his head slightly before running up the stairs. I frowned and clasped my hands behind my back, looking down at the ground.

Gwen sighed and stepped up to me, "Let's play a game."

"What game?"

"Seven minutes in heaven." she smirked, pulling off her scarf, "You can go first since you're the birthday girl."

"I don't know.."

"I heard Flash was wanting to get in there first too." Gwen whispered, pushing me towards the closet.

"Really?"

"Yeah." she stated, tying the scarf around my eyes, "Before I forget, where's the paper?"

"On the table."

"Okay. Just wait right here."

I heard the door close before silence followed. I cleared my throat and carefully sat down in the floor, leaning my head back and breathing in deep. A few minutes past before I heard a knock on the door. I stood up quickly as the door open. I smiled slightly and held my hand up, fingers soon slipping inbetween my own.

"I thought you weren't going to come."

He remained quiet. I felt him start moving closer, causing me to giggle, "Oh, Flash."

"Flash? No, it's Peter!"

I quickly pulled away and pulled the blindfold off, "What did you do?" I asked, quickly looking behind him.

"What? Nothing! They were leaving when I came back."

"Get out!" I screamed, pushing him away and slamming the closet door closed, "I hate you! I hate everything!" I continued to scream.

"Madison, what are you talking about?" he asked, knocking on the door.

"I want to graduate." I cried, sitting down against the shelf and slamming my back against it, "I want to graduate and be done with school."
*~*~*~*~*~

"Madison, time to get up! Your big day is today." I heard my mom yell.

I raised an eyebrow and slowly sat up as I rubbed my eyes, sighing quietly before looking around, instantly freezing up. What happened to my room? I used to have blue walls, now they're..purple? I shook my head and slowly pushed the black comforter off, standing and walking towards the mirror, my eyes widening.

That is not me.

Big thanks to JaSpidermine for the cover! I love it!

A long start, but I hope you enjoy it so far!

Picture on the side pretty much summing up what she looked like at thirteen to about seventeen-almost eighteen.

Let me know what you think about it so far in the comments!
