"Boss? May I come in?" spoke a soft, feminine voice from the other side of the door.
The secretary let out a low 'ooft' as his boss instinctively pushed him away, causing him to stumble, trip and land on the ground with a loud, resounding 'thud'. Donghyuck tried his best to button up and smooth down his shirt while, simultaneously, motioning for Jeno to hide behind his office table. The boy instantly got the message, quickly diving behind the table a second before they both heard the click of the door opening.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I-i didn't mean to just barge in..... I-i just heard a loud noise and got worried, I'm so sorry!" The girl squeaked out, bowing continuously as the boy just watched silently, still trying to catch his breath and fix his hair.
"It's fine." He sighed, glancing back at his table before looking up, making eye contact with the girl standing in his doorway, "It must've been very important if you came all the way up here." He finished, staring at her with crossed arms and a raised eyebrow.
Oh, I know who you are now! The girl who tried to flirt with my Je- I mean...... my secretary. Yes, that's what I meant, he thought, looking the girl up and down.
"A-ah yes. Yes, I just wanted to let you know that I finished the draft manuscript for your meeting with One Shot. Would you like to look it over?" She asked, wringing her hands in visible nervousness.
She had decided to join the company as soon as she learnt that the CEO was only a year younger than her. A decision she almost instantly regretted once she was hired and was met with a tower of paperwork, almost the height of her upper body, at her desk on the first day. Why is there so much work if this is only a new company?!
And that was the end of that crush. She placed the file into his outstretched hand. He looked at it before nodding and simply stating, "You may leave."
She bowed a final time before turning to leave through the door, "Thank you."
There were a few beats of stifling silence before Jeno started climbing out of his hiding spot and Donghyuck let out a relieved sigh, turning towards the other.
"What. The. Fuck." let out Jeno, the girl's words still reeling inside his head, distracting him so much that he didn't even register the words leaving his mouth. Fuck. Shit, I'm so fucking screwed. They're going to do something I'm gonna regret. I can feel it. Fuck this was a bad idea.
"- is up Kyle." replied Donghyuck, smirking at his own wit. He looked down at the file in his hands, not even glancing at the other person in the room as he flipped the cover over. I'll just skim through it for now. It should be fine, right?
"No." groaned the secretary, unintentionally ignoring his boss as he got lost in his thoughts, pressing his palms against his eyes as he bent over. Shit! What am I going to do now?! He's going to think I'm a spy or something and fire me, or worse, get upset!
"What did you say?" sassed the brunette, continuing the reference as he flipped through the pages. Ugh, typo.
Jeno looked up to glance at the other boy as he let out a huff, unconsciously puffing up his cheeks as he grabbed a pen and circled the mistake.
Cute.
