The cold afternoon breeze swept at the young boy's hair as he stood there, frozen in shock as he stared at a printed out note that had been taped to the wall of a small cafe.
This can't be happening, not right now!, he thought as panic started to flood into his system, What am I supposed to do now! the boy groaned internally.
*ring ring*
He picked up his phone without even looking at the contact, "Hello?", he spoke softly into the speaker as his expression turned blank as the news finally settled in, welp, looks like I'm jobless now.
"Hey, Rennie!!!! What's up?" came the loud, excited voice of his best friend from the device.
"Oh yeah, you know, nothing much. Except for the fact that I just lost my job ...... again." He breathed, his eyes prickling with tears as the words spilled past his lips.
"Again?! This is like the fifth time this month! How do you even do that?" Jeno asked, clearly confused.
"Ok, but it wasn't my fault this time." he defended, getting a scoff in return, "I'm serious! Apparently, the cafe owner doesn't have enough money to keep it open so he's sacking us."
"Well, you can come over, I guess." there was a pause and then "Actually, on second thought, I'm coming over to yours. Hurry up and get your ass there, I shit you not, I will break your door down if I get there before you." he let the threat sink in for a second before he hung up.
Knowing Jeno, he would probably go through with the threat and just knowing that made Renjun quicken his pace into a speed walk as he started heading down the street and through the crowd, which happened to be growing by the second causing his slight body to be pushed around roughly.
"Excuse me ......... sorry ......... pardon me", he spoke softly, only getting annoyed looks and angry glares as he accidentally stepped on people's feet on his way out of the crowd.
