She took a deep breath in before pushing the tall glass doors open and walking in. Inside the large building she was met with pristine, white-tiled floors and smooth black walls with the occasional artwork or sculpture. Right in front of her, she found the reception desk, where a vase of blush-red roses were kept in a golden vase, a complete contrast to the black marble of the counter, yet fitting perfectly together.

She walked towards the reception desk, getting looks from all the people she passed, yeah, probably wasn't the best idea to wear a cropped, long-sleeved, t-shirt and sweats to a job interview. Although .... To be fair ....... I didn't even know it was a job interview until I got here. She thought to herself as she reached the reception desk.

The receptionist had sleek black hair, tied up impeccably in a bun and perfect makeup, including a smokey eye and bright red lipstick. As she looked at me her stoic expression cracked to show a disgusted look as her eyes raked over my whole body, before she spoke in a nasally, sharp-edged voice, "How may I help ..... you", looking unimpressed.

Well she seems nice. Not. "Uh, yeah, I'm here for the job interview. For the secretary." the girl replied awkwardly, playing with her sleeves as she felt all the glares pointed at her back. I can't tell if it's 'cause of my clothes, or the fact that I'm not Korean. She thought to herself.

"Floor 8, third room to your right." the receptionist stated simply, pointing in the direction of the elevator.

"Thank you." she mumbled quietly, heading towards the elevator with her head down.

Just as she reached the elevator and pressed the button, she heard the clacking of high heels on tiles and turned around to see a woman with dyed-blonde hair, cascading in perfect curls down her back. She was wearing a black, impeccably crisp suit and ten inch, pure-red stilettos. Big flex but aight.

She chewed her gum obnoxiously as she stepped past the, apparently, quite underdressed, girl and into the elevator, raising a perfectly shaped eyebrow and pursing her lips as she looked at her, "Are you coming or not?"

She quickly rushed into the elevator and pressed the button to the eighth floor before looking down at her feet again, and she couldn't help but compare her Kmart sketchers to the woman's, obviously expensive, high heels. She quickly shook off the negative thoughts before they could even plague her mind, well, I mean, to be fair, I'm still taller than her and the heals on my shoes are, like, 8 cm shorter than hers.

"So, what's someone like you", she glanced down at my clothes, before continuing, "doing in a high-end place like this?" she asked in a high-pitched voice, scrolling through her phone as she spoke, her long, claw-like, acrylic nails tapping on the screen occasionally.

"Um, I'm here for the secretary job thing." she replied softly, the girls' words alone making her negative thoughts come back. She compared her short, chipped nails to the womans' long, red nails. Her worn shoes to the ladies', seemingly, brand-new shoes. Her short brown hair had turned into more of a brown ombre because of her very common swimming adventures, while the woman had perfect hair that was in perfect condition.

The air inside the elevator had turned cold, yet also thick with tension as the lay glanced at the girl, now looking slightly agitated, she spoke matter-of-factly, "Do you really think that you have a chance at getting the job? Honey, stop dreaming, you think he'll fall for the act, we both know you're only here to get the CEO's attention and I'm telling you now, stop trying." The woman scanned the girl from head to toe once again, having an unimpressed look upon her makeup covered features, "He's not going to fall for whatever", she pointed towards the girl, "This is. So stop dreaming. He doesn't fall for that kind of stuff. He's looking for someone who actually works to earn money, not a gold-digger like you." she scoffed and walked out of the elevator as the doors finally opened, leaving the girl frozen in shock, what the hell?!

And now she was fuming. The girl hadn't planned on actually trying, but now, after what the lady had just said, she was infuriated. I'll show her. She's the gold-digger, who does she think she is?! Just because she has more money than me doesn't mean she has the right to talk to me like that!
