The level of awkwardness in the room was astronomical.
They sat together in silence as no one uttered a word, the only sound in the room coming from Jaemin's pen as it scratched against the paper he was reading and editing. Renjun felt sweat drip down his back as he fidgeted around with his hands, repeatedly interlocking his fingers before pulling them apart again.
Jaemin took a quick glance at Renjun, looking up at him through his eyelashes, before sighing and placing his pen down and sliding his chair away from his table. He stared at the small boy sitting on the other side of the table, who had jerked his head up at the sound of the screeching wheels of the Chairman's chair.
"So..." started Jaemin awkwardly, not really knowing how to bring up the kiss, "H-h-how are you? How's your day been?"
"Yeah, same here." he decided to just jump right in, "Now, about that kiss."
His blunt words caused an immediate flush to take over Renjun's ears and neck. He quickly lifted his hoodie clad hands to try to cover his ears, ultimately leading to him squishing his cheeks as well, albeit unconsciously.
He's. So. Fucking. Cute. Oh my lord my heart is literally gonna burst if he keeps this up, Jaemin thought in awe as he stared at the tiny human being sitting just across from him. He smiled before reaching forward to pull the boys' hands away from his ears and hold them in his own ones.
He looked down at their hands, his eyes sparkling at how perfectly Renjun's small, cold hands fit into his warmer and much larger ones. Jaemin kissed his hands before looking into the others' eyes and speaking softly, "Look, we're not in some cliche rom-com and I'm not going to tell you that it was an accident and that we should pretend it never happened and go back to how things were before. I kissed you because I wanted to and I don't regret it, not even a little bit."
He paused, squeezing the hands in his grasp lightly before continuing "I really like you, Renjun. I know it may be too fast, I mean we've only known each other for a few months but....think about it okay?" he finished, quietly.
Renjun just stared into the other boys glittering eyes before slowly shaking his head, "I-i don-n't nee-ed to th-ink a-about it. I l-l-like you t-too." he said softly, feeling a weight being lifted off his shoulders as he finally admitted his true feelings out loud.
Almost instantly, a smile spreads across the taller's face as he glows with happiness, quickly standing up and rushing to the other side of the table before wrapping his arms around the smaller boy who could only blink in surprise.
"Be my boyfriend." he says, chanting 'please' until Renjun snaps out of his trance, giggling at Jaemin's antics.
"Yes."
"Yes?"
"Yes."
"YES!"
