might want to rewrite this book.
previously known as "相互" (mutuals)! not proofread btw. really sorry for the first few chapters, i started this book before kazuha and inazuma were even released! i only relied on the leaks aroun...
after the whole sea monster situation, the crux took their stop on the east-further side of inazuma.
"are you a hundred and one point ten percent sure that you are okay?" kazuha asked for the 27th time. let's just say, this man felt guilty for accidentally letting go of them thanks to the vessel's lack of stability. if beidou weren't there, [y/n] would've been forced down the water to drown.
"kazuha-" [y/n] spun to their heels to face him, only to be met by a pouty samurai with a eyes filled with seriousness. [y/n] giggled at the sight. "seriously, [y/n]."
"kaede. it's okay." kazuha was taken back by the usage of his first name. a small blush crept up to his face. "it was not your fault." [y/n] added.
"you're right.." kazuha chuckled lowly. "..it was garoth's fault for almost flipping the ship upsidedown." he referred to the guy who was in charge of the steering wheel last night.
"i.. i'm not even gonna retaliate."
the duo eyed the half wrecked vessel, the ice starting to melt thanks to the heat the sun provides. "beidou's definitely gonna give me an earful for this." [y/n] cringed.
"why would i? you saved our lives!" beidou appeared behind the two. "but your ship-" "are you really going to worry about a vessel instead of a real human vessel." [y/n] only replied with a sigh.
beidou smiled at them, and put each of her hands on top of the cryo and anemo wielder's head to ruffle their hair. "you two did amazing!" she then walked pass them to help her crew mates for a quick repair of the ship.
after a moment of silence, kazuha averted his eyes to [y/n]. "i'm going to explore this area while waiting, wanna come along?" he invited, which [y/n] gladly accepted.
20 minutes had passed and the whole time, kazuha was explaining theories he had learned about the foreign looking plants they passed by. [y/n] listened and mentally took notes.
they rested their limbs under a cherry blossom tree and sat on other sides, they're basically facing different ways with their backs resting on the same trunk.
inazuma's nature sure is pretty. [y/n] thought as a butterfly fluttered on their fingertip. "will you be staying here?" kazuha stiffened at the question. "well, to be honest with you..i can't." he hesitantly responded.
curiosity got the best of [y/n] as they let the butterfly fly away and threw another question at him. "why so?"
"..i believe you'll stay away from me once i tell you why." [y/n]'s eyebrows furrowed. "i'm banned from inazuma." he admitted.
what could an innocent looking man be capable of to get himself banned from a region. "i'm sorry i never told you earlier" kazuha stood up.
"it's better if you don't get acquainted with me, we part our ways here-" "kaedehara kazuha.." [y/n] cut him off. he looked at the person over his shoulder. the tension kept getting thicker and heavier, making kazuha uncomfortable. shit, maybe i should've kept my mouth shut. he fully faced [y/n] who was already on their feet.
"..what a pulchritudinous name for a criminal.." [y/n] softly smiled up at the man who was in tranced by their words. "..what?"
[y/n] knew. "even though we've only met for a couple of days, i trust that you are more than just a culprit." as stupid as it may sound like, [y/n] was absolutely fond of the boy already, and so was he. but why.
"i saw a poster about you while i was wandering around the ship." [y/n] explained. kazuha froze on his spot, not sure what to say. "and i'd like to let you know that it never differentiate my point of view of you."the cryo wielder mentally cringed at themself. it felt like they were confessing their 'undying love'.
"ah.." kazuha couldn't find the right words to respond to the person standing in front of him. normally, he expected that they'd give him a lesson through a good beating before leaving him on the ground or reporting him to the guards. but no. this person decided to stay as intimates.
"kaedehara kazuha," the way his name rolled out their tounge perfectly was enough to make his heart race. "i look forward to this journey of friendship with you." [y/n] didn't really have friends who would share the same 'vibes' as them, they were too socially conscious when it comes to people like yanfei, xingqiu and hu tao so they decided to stay away from the other mortals and stuck themselves with the adepti.
training all day, reading stories about rex lapis all night. that until they met beidou, the woman who saved them from their social awkwardness moments with other mortals hundreds of times. and through that, they developed a platonic bond.
back at this current moment, they both starred at each other straight in the eyes in silence, neither dared to blink nor look away. only the sound of the wind and rustling leaves could be heard softly.
"[y/n].." right under this fairly old sakura tree.. "thank you." ..is where a new mutual attachment was starting to develop.
