"DAWN"

"there she is!" beidou exclaimed proudly, looking at her beloved vessel then back at [y/n] who was following behind her with their mouth agape from the sight.

"it's way more humongous than i thought." [y/n] walked through the docks beside beidou. the woman looked at her boon companion amusingly. "there's a difference between a boat and a ship, [y/n]."

"that was not what i-" the poor [h/c] haired got dragged by the captain in able to speed up their way to the ship before they could even finish their sentence.

when they finally arrived they were greeted by beidou's crux. some of them sending a warm welcoming smile while the others were too busy with their work or communicating with their comrades.

a young boy came up to them with a grin on his face. "look! captain! i caught a fish!" he raised it up to their faces proudly, beidou pumped a fist up and responded with an "atta boy, little yue!" she cheered.

[y/n] watched as a smile crept up their face. i'm definitely going to love it here.

the scenery on the ship looked so peaceful, that until..

"KAZUHA!" a member shouted in panic. A white haired man with a strand of red swung down from the foremast as he let out a small chuckle, not looking at where he was swinging towards to.

and to [y/n]'s luck, it was towards them.

the boy's eyes widened in sync with [y/n]'s. the [h/c] haired dropped their belongings and caught the boy in their arms. the impact made [y/n] fall back on the crates behind them. and with their arms still attached on kazuha, he fell down with them too.

silence.
awkward silence.

until beidou laughed out loud at what she had witnessed, arms around her stomach. the others chuckled it off while the other ones just stared in concern.

[y/n] opened their eyes to reveal the boy already staring at them. "uhhhhh..greetings..?" kazuha sent [y/n] an awkward smile.

[y/n] blinked once. twice. not sure if they should be amused or embarrassed of the current situation. "are you ok?"

"i should be the one asking you that. my apologies." kazuha got off from on top of them and held out a hand to [y/n]. they hesitantly took the male's hand as he helped them stand to their feet.

"it's fine! glad i caught you before you got yourself swung out the ship." [y/n] responded as they pat off the dirt on their clothing.

while doing so, kazuha cringed at the thought of him accidentally falling down to the water because of his carefree actions.

beidou walked towards them, still giggling. she put an arm over [y/n]'s shoulder, the other over kazuha's. "you two are going to be a lot of fun to deal with."

[y/n] watched from the sides as some of the crux members and their leader drink to their heart's content, the mixture of beer and the ocean's breeze flowed in and out their nose.

the moon shone brightly. they were sure that they haven't gone too far, but the sight of liyue harbor was no where to be spotted. this made [y/n] missed the people they have met back in liyue. there was no turning back now.

"not a drinker?" [y/n] was startled by the sudden appearance of the red eyed male beside them. "only on special occasions." they replied with a small smile as they averted their eyes back to the crux, now singing a song out of tune and rhyme carelessly.

"well isn't this a special occasion? i heard it's your first time travelling overseas." he eyed the figure beside him. "well, not this time. can't get drunk on my first day outside liyue after a long time."

"understandable." the boy hummed.

kazuha handed them a chicken mushroom skewer, [y/n] gladly took it. before they could take a bite they took a good look at kazuha. the poor boy's lips formed into a thin line out of nervousness. "what?" he said.

"what's this for?" [y/n] gently swung the skewer in a circular motion with their hand. "take it as an apology gift for crashing on you earlier." kazuha responded calmly.

[y/n] chuckled. "it's okay, i swear. i owe you a thank you." kazuha looked at them in confusion. "my head could've gotten hit badly if it wasn't for your hand." [y/n] finally took a bite of the meat.

that's right. before they crashed on the crates, kazuha's right hand protected the back of [y/n]'s head for it to be shielded to the damage it could've costs.

"i also owe you a thank you for catching me." kazuha finally responded with a smile after he recalled his actions earlier. [y/n] smiled back.

"i'm kazuha. forgive me for my rudeness." the boy slightly bowed in front of the [e/c] eyed individual.

"you really need to stop apologizing." they chuckled at the boy. "i go by [y/n]."

"cryo vision?" kazuha eyed the vision dangling on the side of [y/n]'s waist. the cryo wielder nodded as they searched for the boy's vision. "might want to cover that up when we reach inazuma. the electro archon has been collecting those without giving the wielder a choice." he added.

"mhm, i've heard of baal's intentions. and there is no way i'm allowing that to happen to me." [y/n] responded.

"likewise."

"i was blessed with the anemo vision." kazuha said, trying to make the conversation longer.

"that's so cool. bet we can make frosty tornadoes together." [y/n] hummed as kazuha only responded with a chuckle.

"OI [N/N] GET OVER HERE!" a drunk beidou gave the startled individual a side hug. "you're missing out on all the fun!" she whined as she pulled [y/n] to the crowd before going back and pulling kazuha by the ear. "you too canadian aether."

this is going to be a long night.
