"UNCONCEALED"

[y/n] eyed the cryo vision in hand, recalling an unpleasant memory while stressing over current matters made them despise their mind. kazuha had noticed the change of atmosphere, it felt uneasy. he leaned on the door frame.

"[y/n], may i inform you about something?" the samurai gulped. [y/n] set their vision aside and glanced over to the samurai, silently approving him to talk. "i have recieved a letter from beidou; apparently, i have an important business to attend to." the boy showed a letter in hand. "i'll be back in as soon as possible, i promise."

"no, it's alright, take the time you need. i'll be staying here for a while, maybe i'll figure another plan out." [y/n] said, the cheerful tone in their voice fading away in every word, making the samurai stare at them in concern. "i don't want to leave you."

"well, we can't decline captain beidou's requests. now can we, dear?" they spread their arms open for the platinum haired boy. "mm.. you won't miss me?" kazuha gladly accepted their embrace. "as if." [y/n] scoffed. "you insolent being." kazuha played along with their sarcasm.

"are you certain that you're going to be alright without me?" he cupped their cheek. "just come back before i rage in sadness and burn this house down." [y/n] kissed his hand. kazuha blushed at the action, not minding what they just responded with.

"captain's ship will arrive at the docks in an hour." he tried to change the subject. "mhm, too soon?" [y/n] whined. "it's an emergency, according to the letter. apparently, the crux discovered a cave with a complex puzzle in it and while trying to solve it, some members started to faint, unsure causes. they wanted me to take a look and solve it as quick as possible."

"i see. be extra careful." smart pretty boy. "i.. i want you to stay under aether's protection until i return." as much as the samurai didn't like the idea, he was left with no choice but to find someone reliable enough to look after [y/n]. the person that came to mind was the traveller. kazuha was aware of aether being sent to watch over [y/n], which he still had mixed feelings about.

"i don't want to bother him any further, he had done enough." [y/n] replied. "well, too bad i already talked to him." kazuha pat their head before pulling away from the hug they shared. before [y/n] could open their mouth, he placed his lips on theirs, giving them a quick peck. "i'll be taking my leave now. promise i'll solve the puzzle as quick as possible." the samurai took his blade with him. "promise me that you'll come back unharmed instead." [y/n] started to have second thoughts. with one last smile and nod towards his lover, he quickly left for he was starting to get worried about what beidou and her group had stumbled onto.

"felt like you were gone for a year, young man." beidou stood behind kazuha who had his arms crossed on his chest. "plenty unexpected occurrence happened." he stared at the ocean, inazuma nowhere in sight. "oooh, like what??" beidou grinned. "hmm.. it's a story i think [y/n] should be the one to tell." the platinum haired finally looked at the captain.

"well respected." beidou replied. something was wrong with her and kazuha noticed that. the hint of concern was visible in her features as she examined some of her crux members who came along with her to pick kazuha up. some were left inside the cave to keep an eye on anything uncommon.

after a few more moments, the ship had come to a halt, signaling that they have reached their destination. as all of them hopped off board, the samurai immediately scanned the place. they were nowhere near liyue nor inazuma, it was in the middle of the ocean.
