Sun started warming up the ground by the time Karasuno's players gathered in front of the building. Its bright rays were playing in between leaves of tall trees and reflecting in countless windows. Shadows constantly appearing here and there, jumping and sliding along silent streets. A slightly noticeable breeze washed over Tsukishima's face, however even that was enough to make him scrunch his nose and shake his head. Boy woke up not so long ago, but already prayed for today not being as exhausting as always, however life decided to irritate him from the early morning.During team's usual warm up before a quick morning run Tsukishima felt Yamaguchi staring at him bluntly. At first boy thought that he was only spacing out as always, but then a different thought struck his head. Maybe it was caused by him making his boyfriend worry about his well being, however Yamaguchi's eyes were telling a completely different story. Tsukishima tilted his head in confusion. They weren't fixated on blonde just to see if boy suddenly faints or starts getting pale, as Yamaguchi tended to do sometimes. Now boy's eyes were asking for something, almost pleading for it. Tch, you're gonna burn a hole in me like this.
Tsukishima shook his head slightly, he didn't have a slightest clue what all this was about. His thoughts went wondering places he didn't want them to, especially in the early morning. Boy didn't need all this trouble while still being half asleep. However he thought about how he might have done or said something wrong, making his boyfriend uncomfortable and wanting an apology. Even so the least pleasant thing for him was apologizing for something not even knowing the reason for. Everything suddenly stopped making sense.
Tsukishima looked directly in his boyfriend's eyes once more, trying to catch even the smallest hint about what could possibly cause this kind of attention, but it was pointless. It looked like he was in a completely different place. Blonde wouldn't admit it, but he never tried to look into Yamaguchi's expressions and habits. He didn't know if boy's ears turned red when he's embarrassed, or if he tends to put a hand behind his neck feeling uncomfortable. So there was no way he could figure what boy was thinking about now.
Yamaguchi's eyes weren't wandering over his silhouette nor examining blonde's face. Boy didn't even pay attention to Tsukishima staring back at him. His boyfriend's look was soft, but it froze in one place and didn't move no matter how many times he changed position during warm up - Tsukishima's lips. He's not the type to think about kissing me first thing in the morning, is he? It felt ridiculous to think about. Blonde knew at least that much about Yamaguchi to understand that this wasn't the case here. Tsukishima told him multiple times about how uncomfortable he feels showing affection while in public, so there was no way boy would think about something as weird as this.
He looked closer at Yamaguchi's expression. The more seconds were passing by, the more blonde felt confused. Just what in the hell is going on in this head of his? At this point warming up got impossible to continue. Is he waiting for me to say something or is this dumbass just spacing out again for nothing?
"Oi, Yamaguchi," Tsukishima called him, but got no response. Yamaguchi was caught so deep in his own thoughts that completely ignored his boyfriend. Blonde sat down and waved a hand before his own face, to catch Yamaguchi's attention. A deep sigh escaped freckled boy's lips, but nothing followed it. Does he have a death wish or something?!
"Yamaguchi!" he growled louder.
"Huh?" Yamaguchi sprung up from the sitting position he was in, "Sorry, Tsukki..." Boy scratched the back of his neck in apologetic way, but didn't dare to meet Tsukishima's eyes.
Blonde clicked his tongue "what's up with you anyway? I thought you would burn a hole in me with this intense stare of yours. If you have something to say, than say it."
"Sorry, Tsukki...it's nothing really," Yamaguchi sighed deeply and fixed his hair.
"So troublesome," Tsukishima rolled his eyes and followed their team to the start of their morning run's route.
Boys slowly were picking up pace, running through endless streets. Light chatter with quiet panting could be heard. Tsukishima slowly ran behind teammates, which looked more like a fast walking though. He didn't plan wasting energy this early in the morning with multiple practices coming later. Blonde looked over to his boyfriend, peacefully jogging right next to him, talking about upcoming practice with Nekoma.
Yamaguchi wanted to run faster, but would feel bad for leaving Tsukishima alone, especially knowing how much he hated running. However he had no clue that now blonde would enjoy silence more than all this endless chatter of his. What a pain. Tsukishima rolled his eyes and sighed heavily, fighting his urge to stop right then and there to go back to team's room without having to endure all this.
Tsukishima's gaze wondered to Yamaguchi once more, focusing on all the useless amount of information he was uttering. Is there really something to get all excited about? Blonde sighed again and imagined putting his dear headphones on, escaping this early morning's nightmare.
