I pace my cell, having just been unchained so I could walk around. I think they got too annoyed with my shouting. I huffed, looking around the bright, white room. It was well lit, and I could tell that people were behind one of the walls, but by the slight discoloration it was a one-way mirror. I stretched out my muscles, popping my shoulders and neck.

I did some pushups, some jumping jacks, and then I showed off a little. I pretended to be boxing, focusing on my form. I was in white, loose clothing. My black hair was braided back. I don't know how long I was passed out for, but it couldn't have been any longer than a day. I noticed a few cameras around the room, so I grinned as I flipped them off.

"Subject One seems to be agitated and combative." The intercom blared. I tilted my head, realizing they accidentally turned on their speaker. I pretended to not notice, shifting on spot, racing around the room with angry snarls. They want a show, they'll get one.

I crashed into the table, tearing through the lack chains to show them just how strong I was. "Subject One, destroying everything in sight. Especially strong. Able to bite through titanium chains. Fur of wolf, night black with silver eyes. A small spot of white on the tip of her tail, and a spot on her abdomen." They say again. I grinned, tilting my head back and unleashing a powerful howl. I heard a gasp and crashing noise, people shouting and gasping.

I snicker, tearing apart the bed they gave me. The floor is more comfortable than that shit table. A panel on the opposite wall opens up, and they throw in three trays. One filled with bloody meat. One of vegetables. And one of an actual steak dinner. I eat the steak dinner, vegetables, and even the bloody meat.

"Subject One eats all food. Human food, animal meat, and greenery." He notes. I lash my tail from side to side, stalking around the room as I try to make it unknown that they were broadcasting what he was saying.

"Can she hear us?" A familiar voice asks. Max.

"No. Subject One can't." The scientist answers immediately.

"Good. Mr. President McHanner would like to meet with you now." Max orders, I hear the other person sigh.

"Very well. Watch her for me." The scientist sighs, walking away. There's a second of silence before I hear him speak.

"Jaiyana. I know you can hear me. I hope you rot in this cell. Maybe I can convince Mr. President to let me mate with you. That should break the matebond enough for me to control you." Max says evilly, I snarl loudly and turn to the mirror. Never.

"You have no choice in the matter. My parents and I were hoping and praying that I would be your mate! We deserved power! But instead you got the filthy human! Uncle Keaton understood my pain, knowing what it felt like to be pushed to do things you never wanted to do. Being told you weren't perfect enough. I had to watch as you became who you were, put into a difficult spot, because of who your mate was. Then you killed the only person who understood me!" Max ranted, I could imagine him running his hand through his hair in stress and his eyebrows scrunched in frustration.

He had me. He had the whole family. But he betrayed us. I turned my back on him, curling into a ball to try and tune his voice out. He continued to rant, until I finally drifted off into a restless sleep.

I was pulled into a dream I knew well. Ash was calling me. I let myself enter the dream, feeling the sparks on my entire body. I tumbled into a room, seeing Ash's body peacefully sleeping and his parents talking quietly in the corner of the room. But in front of me was the dream Ash. He hugged me, holding me close.

"They blocked our mindlinks. I don't know how, but I've been trying to mindlink you for the past week!" He exclaims, I pull away quickly.

"Wait, what? How long have I been passed out? I just woke up this morning!" I gasp in disbelief. His eyebrows raise, his blue eyes looking dull.
