Days passed into weeks. Dr. Sanchez and I made deals. In order for me to exchange information, I got to have my own monitored tablet, so I could look at my family. Although, I wasn't allowed to see Asher. At all. Ever since that first time, he's never contacted me again.
I got real meals. An actual bed with a blanket and pillow. And of course, he would bring me books to pass my time. He wanted me calm, so I told him my mate and books help keep me calm. That and working out. Which I did routinely every morning. Mostly out of habit. But also, to train myself to defeat my enemies. I needed to escape.
Echo wasn't in my head, but I could still shift. So, she either learned to block me really well. Or she is in the spirit world. Trying to find our way out of this mess. Dr. Sanchez and I got really close. He learned to trust that I wouldn't hurt him as long as he didn't hurt me or my family.
"What are you thinking about, Luna?" A voice suddenly asked from my right. I jumped, my eyes widening. I look over, spotting the doctor himself.
"Nothing interesting." I reply like I always do. He chuckles to himself, tossing a candy bar to me. I catch it, my arm in a blur as I quickly unwrap it and take a bite.
"You're not allergic to chocolate?" He asks, more to himself than to me. I swallow my bite, laughing loudly.
"Of course not, silly! I'm a werewolf, not a dog!" I laugh, even though I was insulted. He didn't no any better. He scratched his neck, nodding slowly.
"Alright. What are your weaknesses besides silver and the full moon?" He asks, I giggle softly.
"Nothing, really." I shrug, it's the truth but also a half-lie. He never asked if those were my weaknesses, he asked if there were any others.
"Hmm... How many laps can a werewolf do on average?" He asks, I shrug.
"It varies from each person. Like my highest was almost five hundred. In human form. But my Beta's is almost four-fifty. Beta's mate is actually higher than four fifty, right behind me. Rank doesn't neccasarily mean anything. Strength varies." I shrug, he nods and writes it down.
"In wolf form?" He asks, I shrug again.
"Don't know. We never test it. We usually train in human form because in wolf, we're doubly stronger than in human. At least. So, we are easily able to protect ourselves in that form. In human form, we're in more of a disadvantage. But we can shift even if someone is on top of us, which no one wants to be in that situation because our claws and teeth with kill them faster than we would want." I say, a slight smirk tilting up my lips. He hums, shifting a bit further back from me.
"What are wolves like in wolf form?" He asks, I tilt my head and purse my lips in thought.
"Same as when they're human. Unless they're Rogue. Most go insane. Some can barely scrape by." I inform him, he nods. "But, by nature, we're what you humans would call monsters. We're more... violent by nature. But, we don't intentionally hurt each other. That's why training is open for all. Because in training you can't accidentally kill someone. There are certain rules binding you and your wolf in the arena." I expand, he nods and take notes.
"Are you competitive?" He asks, glancing up when I nod.
"Definitely. Packs fight over territory. Some over mates. We fight Rogues. But, we also like to win. So, a battle can turn into a war. A war can turn into years. A feud if you will." I inform him with a sad smile. "A whole Pack can be wiped out in one battle if they are weaker than their opponents." I sigh, he quirks an eyebrow up at me.
"Sorry. Luna's are more emotional than other female wolves. We're impacted more than anyone else when it comes to betrayals and deaths. We also influence the whole Pack's mood. If we're happy, they're happy. I'm sad, they're sad. I know when someone dies in my Pack, and I'll know if anything alarming is happening faster than the Alpha. Asher although, has an advantage. With the mark, he can feel my emotions. He knows where I am, at all times. He can enter my mind besides just mind linking. We're more connected than any other soulmate pair." I say, sort of smugly. He hums, taking the notes based off what I have said.
"Why did you run when the government went to get you when you were ten?" Dr. Sanchez leans forward, setting his tablet down. I freeze, tensing up.
"Because my parents told me to. I didn't know about anything until much later. I wouldn't have gone with any way because I know how McHanner is. He's an insane psycho, and I'm willing to bet he'd kill you if you ever put a toe out of line." I hiss, he stiffens and sits up.
"Very well. Breakfast will be brought in shortly." He glares, leaving me swiftly behind. I stare long after he's gone at the spot in which the door opens, glaring after him and biting my tongue to stop from letting my emotions out. No one can know what I'm going through. He could use it against me.
I sigh, leaning back and finishing the candy bar he brought me. Almost moaning at the wonderful taste. I needed that. That's when I feel the heat begin. Unleashing a powerful howl of pain, I double over. No wonder I've been snappy and more in touch with my feelings all morning. Although, the pain has never been this bad.
Then, I crumple to the ground as whines leave my lips. I felt hot. Unbearably so. I strip, discarding my clothes along the floor. This was the most intense heat I've ever been in. And I knew this was going to be a long few days.
