🌺🍀Chapter 4 : The Locked Ancient Temple

The strange shower had came to ended as well as the raindrops on the umbrella, disappeared. The man came to a stop too and put away the umbrella. Then at the same time, he finally let go of your hand and moved one step closer. His hand reach out to the veil and swiftly lifted it upwards. Your eyes finally saw the man's face and he wore a mask covering half of his face.

His stare was enchanting, then his hand that lifted the veil brushed your cheek, tracing down. Your hand was about to reach it when he smiled and broke into millions of butterflies, scattering beautifully. Just then, a one single butterfly flew infront of you, brushing past your lips before joining the wind of butterflies in the air.

You scanned your surroundings and your eyes widen by a fraction. Looking up, you saw a large nailed words above. "MING GUANG TEMPLE"

"Was that the ghost groom? General Pei and the ghost groom are not working together right?" You thought to yourself as you make your way to the entrance.

The doors was closed but it's not locked, pushing the doors open, you immediately covered your nose from the red veil after a your nose smelled strange in the air. You walked inside closing the doors, the temple isn't dusty like the common places unvisited for so many years. The centre hall was neat and tidy, especially the prayer table. It was surprising clean as if someone have been taking care of it everyday.

You ran your finger on the surface of the table. "Not even a single speck of dust..."

You made your way back to the great hall and after that, your body froze. A group of women all dressed up in bright red robes covered with veils, were all standing before him. The rotten stench came from them as you pressed up the veil in your nose as you approached and started counting.

"One, two, three.... fifteen, sixteen... seventeen! There's no doubt, these are the seventeen missing brides!"

As soon as you finished counting, you heard sounds coming from outside. "What's that sound?...it's getting louder!"

"Crap! He's coming back!" You hurriedly stand beside the corpse bride and put on the veil. Immediately, your body form into a female, matching the height of the woman beside and grown a bosom.

The sound was strange and hard to describe. It was like something is dragged violently and pulling with difficulty on the ground. The sound came from afar and it has now came closer fast. In an instant, it has reached and opened the door of the temple. You remained still pondering, what kind of thing that's being dragged on the ground, it sounds like this creature is limping.

The sound came even closer as it went to the back of the centre hall. You listened carefully when this ghost sounds like..."He's taking off all the veils!"

Your breath hitched when it grasp the end of your veil. Immediately, you jumped back summoning your boa scarf and attacked the ghost groom. "What the---" after you take off the veil you saw a black smoke circled around the temple chased by your boa scarf until it burst out from the door of the temple.

"Oh no you don't!" You picked up the edge of your dress and chased the black smoke outside but it finally disappeared, plummeting to the forest. "Damn!"
