I turned around just to see Sara fall to the ground.
My first thought was Donner. He was the last one with her, and I heard yelling not long before. As they all rushed to help her, I noticed he wasn't there, so I ran past the commotion and into the hallway.
When I stepped into the hallway, something crushed under my foot. I picked it up to see a small shard of glass. Looking down the hallway, I noticed all the lights were blown out completely and had all shattered. Donner was standing at the end of the hall, observing the lights closely.
"What did you do?" I said with a raised voice, walking towards him.
"I haven't done anything, I have no clue what just happened-" Donner started, turning around.
"I don't believe a word you're saying." I said through gritted teeth, facing him. "I haven't trusted you since you got here, with all your 'classified doctor' bullshit. You refuse to tell us what your job even is! Something is going on, and you have been so suspicious that I have no other reason to believe-"
"Kid, you have no idea what you are talking about. Face it. You have a little crush on this girl, and that's why you wanna play 'hero'. It's the only way your teenage brain can wrap itself around the fact that you're not special like all your meta friends." Donner stepped closer, meeting my eye.
I stepped back, and suddenly I was at a loss for words. "I-"
"Yeah, I know how upset you get that you're not another Killer Frost carbon copy of your mother. Well, sorry, kid, but I've studied, and sometimes the genetics don't work out in your favor." Donner chuckled a bit.
"Sometimes you get the short end of the icicle."
I don't know what came over me, but when he said that I turned around and socked him in the face. Hard.
As I turned around and walked away, I felt his presence stay put, his hand holding the right side of his face where I had punched him.
I may not be a meta, but I sure know how to fight.

As Sara lay in the hospital wing still unconscious, we all stood in the Cortex trying to grasp what happened. After a few moments, Caitlin came out with a clipboard.
"According to my analysis, Sara fainted from fatigue, but-" Caitlin started.
"She ran fifty feet down the hallway. No one gets that tired from fifty feet!" Cisco exclaimed.
"That's what I was thinking. Until I looked closer." Caitlin typed up some stuff onto the computer, which brought up a diagram of Sara's brain scan onto the big screen.
We all stared in awe at the image.
"I haven't seen that much color since last year's pride parade." Jenna said.
Caitlin nodded. "And, after further testing, for Sara to 'conk out' like that, she would've had to have exerted around sixty-three thousand Newtons of force, which is more than enough to shatter a brick wall."
My jaw dropped. "But, that's impossible, no human can do that, let alone a 16-year old." I said.
Caitlin nodded in agreement. "And her brain activity is off the charts. Literally, my computer froze trying to update the data. So, I traced for meta-DNA, and get this." Caitlin pulled up another image. "I found more than one strand."
"More than one? That's six! I didn't even know that was possible." Iris exclaimed.
"Well, the last time we saw anything remotely like this was DeVoe, and his body was deteriorating. I can only assume the worst, seeing as we just saw this 'incident' happen, so I'm going to start working on some sort of stabilizer."
"Do you know what the meta DNA strands are specifically?" I asked.
"Well one of them's gotta be telekinesis," Owen said, walking into the Cortex, shaking off his hand. "All of the lights down the hallway are completely blown out and shattered."
Cisco ran into the hallway to look. "Aw, man, that's gonna cost so much money!" He whined. Caitlin shot him a look, then turned back to me.
"Well, I guess now we have one down, but we're gonna have to wait and see for the other ones. Although something weird is happening with the bottom one." She pointed to the bottom strand on the diagram, which almost looked like it was dead. "It's like someone put something in her to specifically mute it. I didn't even know any of this technology existed yet, so I don't know-"
"Maybe Donner knows about all this. I'm sure he's done some studies similar to this, maybe he can help us." Iris suggested.
I nodded, walking out into the hallway, but Donner was gone. He had dropped his badge though, so I went to pick it up, and I noticed something I hadn't seen before. A piece of tape was covering the logo on his badge.
I knew I shouldn't have, but I was too curious. I slowly lifted the tape to reveal the logo.
It was an Icecap Industries logo. The same lab that had just been condemned for meta testing on minors.
"Hey guys?" Cisco yelled from the cortex.
I ran across the shattered glass into the Cortex, where everyone was huddled around the computers.
"What? Why is everyone staring at the computers?" I asked.
Cisco turned around slowly. "I searched up Sara Anderson on the database to see if she had any information we could use..." He stopped.
"What? Is she, like a criminal or something?" I joked.
Cisco stared at me, his face almost turning pale.
"Sara Anderson doesn't exist."
