So, I didn't really know what to do for the side story, so I won't be continuing it. Like, I really don't. I'm sorry! I tried, but my motivation is low. I'm going to do my best though. Enjoy!
~~~~~~~
We all stood there, looking at the ground in sadness, anger, and guilt.
"Did I... not have faith?" Emma said shakily. I walked over to her and gripped her arm lightly.
"Emma, look at me," I saw the doubt in her eyes as she slowly looked up.
"Do you have faith in the kids here?" I asked, determined to help her. She slowly nodded and wiped her bright green eyes, the clouds in them slowly parting.
"Of...of course!" She said the second part with more certainty. I smiled weakly. It was hard to really smile when you're under so much stress.
"There's your answer." She smiled softly and gave me a hug. I hugged her back, both of us under so much stress that it was a relief to have these small moments of friendship with each other.
"Let's go outside and talk to them," I suggested. She nodded her head in agreement. After we checked one more time to make sure that the boys were really okay, we walked outside and ran over to the crying boy. I stayed a few feet back from Emma as she explained herself.
"Look, I was way too naive! I was ready for you to resent me, but not at all ready to believe in you!" She apologized. They both turned to look at the girl in wonder.
I noticed Ray standing a little ways away in the back, so I moved to stand next to him.
"Same here." Norman walked up to stand next to Emma. "Sorry," He said, bowing his head in apology. Don looked taken aback. I raised my hand and said I was sorry too.
"Uh...well- I...I shouldn't have punched you like that. Sorry. Are you okay? You're not, are you?" He asked, a bit worried. (A/N What do you mean?! He's standing perfectly straight, he's conscious, he isn't internally bleeding- oh wait nvm, none of them are okay. They're being raised to be demon nom-noms. Whoops)
Norman laughed lightly, putting his hand up. "I'll be alright."
I smiled at that. Norman always acted happy, even in the darkest of times. He always managed to find something to laugh at.
"We realize that it was a bad idea to act on our own," Gilda said, ashamed of her actions.
"Yeah. Ray and Y/N had every right to get mad," Don said. I nodded my head from the shadows. Damn right I did...
"Please, forgive us." They bowed. Emma turned so we would be illuminated by the light of her lantern.
"Well. Will you?" Norman asked expectantly. Don and Gilda looked at us hopefully. I smiled slightly.
"Of course." I looked at Ray, and so did everyone else. He averted his eyes. I elbowed him, making him reluctantly respond to them.
"Yeah, I forgive them." He admitted, rubbing the side of his head. I smiled, satisfied with his reply.
"If something happens, we can find some way to deal with it," I assured them. I looked at Ray, realizing that he hasn't apologized. I whispered that he needed to. He sighed, obviously not liking being wrong.
"I should also apologize. Sorry." he bowed quickly. We all laughed a bit.
We gathered closer to each other to discuss the escape. We needed to get back down to business. (A/N TO DEFEAT. THE HUNNNNSSSSS. DID THEY- sorry.)
"Now that you two know the truth, I need to confirm something before we continue. The outside world is full of demons. If we mess up, we die. Knowing that, will you still come with us?" Emma asked, seriously.
I gave her a look, which she noticed. "What?" She questioned. I shook my head.
"Of course they're going to come with us. It's either potentially die in the wilderness, or definitely die here," I said. My eyes darted to Don and Gilda. "Sorry, for answering for you, but I assumed you were going to say yes anyway. Am I correct?"
They nodded their heads.
We smiled, and Emma and Norman were happy. Ray and I, on the other hand, had a sinking feeling that we were being watched.
~~~~~~~
The next day, while Emma and Norman were folding clothes, and Ray was talking to mom, I was reading survival books in the library. I scanned over books about the outdoors, until I found something interesting in one book.
It was a small necklace, with a silver chain and a little pendant on the end. The circular pendant was a white circle, that glowed green in the shadows of the bookcase. I curiously examined it. I pulled it out and looked at it in the light. It went back to being white. I clasped it around my neck, deciding that it wouldn't hurt to wear it.
I knew that Emma, Norman, Don, and Gilda were outside. I started to walk through the halls to meet them outside, when I heard quiet muffled voices. I pressed my ear against the door quietly. I could barely make out what they were saying, but I heard one sentence.
"...and remember. You can't hurt her, or our deal is off..."
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! Sorry it was short, but all I did was finish the episode. I've gained new motivation. Maybe I should make Y/N start to realize her feelings. Tell me what you think!
