Author Muffin is providing you with another chapter, my lovely readers! Thank you guys so much for all your support!
After I had gotten permission from Mom- Ok more like after I had asked relentlessly- I went outside with a sling holding up my arm so I could talk to Ray, Gilda, and Don. Ray stood by my side the entire time, making sure I was ok. Which I found super sweet and would totally hug him for if my arm wasn't in a freaking SLING. Thanks soooo much mom :D -_-
"What are we supposed to do? Norman's getting shipped out. She took the rope! Not to mention, Emma can't move, and Y/N-"
"I'm fine." I cut him off. Ray gave me a look. "Really! I am!" I tried to convince them. They just stared at me, eyebrows raised, completely unbelieving of my story.
"Alright, Miss 'I'm-fine-don't-worry', move your arm then." Ray challenged, crossing his arms. I glared at him for a second before smirking and bending my left arm. The not broken one. Ray gave me another look. "The other arm, N/N." I rolled my eyes.
"You know what- I- whatever. No matter what shape my arm is in, it still isn't the greatest of our worries. Emma and I will heal, and we can get a new rope, but Norman?! He's getting shipped out. We can't let that happen. Norman has to be our number 1 focus right now." I stated firmly.
"Agreed," Ray said. His dark green eyes scanned over my body, checking for any other places where Mom could've hurt me, lingering on my knee, which I scraped when I fell. His gaze eventually reached back up to my face, where I gave him a soft look, trying to tell him I was okay.
"Out of all of us, why was he picked to be shipped?" Gilda's timid and quiet voice questioned. Ray turned to lean on the stone well.
"When she said the situation changed, she meant the next shipment. It was about Norman." Ray explained.
"She even... got rid of Sister Krone." Gilda said, covering her mouth with her hands in fear.
"It seemed like everything was normal this morning, right? She was smiling and doing chores like she usually does. And now she's gone, and it's all because of Mom," Don commented.
I shifted my eyesight to stare at the grassy ground, not wanting to believe that Norman would be gone soon.
No. He won't be. We will save him.
I was startled from my thoughts by the sound of metal clanking across the ground. I looked up to see that Ray had kicked the bucket (A/N Not literally---wait---- figurativly, thank god....... *knocks on wood*) across the field in anger.
~~~
Ray stormed through the halls, with me walking right beside him, trying to keep him calm.
"Ray, what about Norman?!" Don asked from behind us. Ray stopped, his body shaking, seemingly from anger, but I knew better. He was afraid.
"He's going to escape, no matter what! Y/N, Don, Gilda, let's go!" Ray said, confidently. He might have been afraid, but he was ready to fight.
I followed Ray down the hallway to the hospital room. We opened the dark wooden door with a click, and we saw Emma look up at us in surprise.
We all stared for a few seconds before Ray spoke clearly.
"We're getting Norman out."
~~~
When Norman came back, we were all ready and prepared with the plan. The soft red light of the lamp cast over our faces as we heard the door open. Norman walked in, a ghostly smile pasted on his face, covering for the obvious fear and sadness behind it.
"I'm back!" He paused, seeing our serious expressions. "Ray... Y/N..."
Ray told Norman to take a seat, and he sat in the chair to the right of Emma's bed, while Ray stood on the left and I sat on the other bed, facing them.
"Tomorrow, you'll escape by yourself." Ray said.
"You won't die."
"Yeah, not on our watch."
Norman looked surprised before giving us a fake smile. I really wanted to both slap and hug him at that moment. "Sorry but, I can't-"
"You can!" All three of us said at once.
"But to be more accurate, you'll just pretend to do it." Ray elaborated, confusing Norman. "You'll disable your tracking device, fake an escape, then hide in the area 'till Emma and Y/N are healed up."
"And on the day of the escape, you'll run away with us!" Emma said.
"And our escape will be a success!" I concluded with an encouraging grin. Norman looked at the three of us with doubtful blue eyes. He didn't seem to understand that we just want the best for him, and that we can't afford to lose him.
"Yeah, but... once I go, security'll get tighter," Norman argued.
"Not a problem," Ray assured the snow-haired boy. "Based on the house's caretaking policies, security won't increase much."
"Caretaking policies?"
"Yes, the rules. One, To let all of us grow freely. Two, strict confidentiality." I listed off. I tucked a piece of H/C hair behind my ear. My hair was starting to fall out of my pigtails, so I simply took them off. I shook my hair out, letting it fall down. Ray glanced at me, and I didn't notice when his cheeks grew the slightest bit pink.
"Right. Uh...the first policy is for developing our brains. A child that grows up freely with rich emotions, that's the minimum requirement for the product here," Ray finished explaining. I saw the understanding bloom in Norman's eyes.
"So then, point two means..."
"Yeah. The demons stay out of sight. If we fear them, our brains won't grow as planned. So the worst they'll do is add more guards or caretakers. And those things we can deal with, I know it!" Ray said, clearly determined. His dark green eyes shone in the dim lighting.
"Even so, if they end up making the wall taller than it is now, how do you plan on climbing over it?" Norman asked. Ray's eyes grew fierce.
"You can make a ladder---while you're hiding out in the forest!" Ray argued. (A/N ughhhh this dialogue part is boring. Time to make it more interesting)
Unfortunately, Ray moved his hands a little too much while he talked, and ended up elbowing me, right on my sling. I hissed in pain. Ray's eyes darted to me, and they instantly filled with guilt.
"Oh my god- I am so sorry N/N. Are you okay?" He asked worriedly. I nodded, clutching my arm.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't sweat it." I assured him. He still looked at me with that same adorable look of concern, and I couldn't help smiling a little. Norman coughed, trying to refocus the conversation. We immediately looked at him and he continued talking.
I'll continue more next time. I'm sorry, but I have to get this out to you guys. I owe you one for not publishing in forever. Don't worry, I'll continue after. Lots of love!
