I think it was cute how strongly Severus felt for Lily, but I still don't ship.
Besides if Lily married Snape, it would be Harry Snape and I just can't live with that.
I think they could have made a cute couple but still not my favorite.
Pros:
1. Snape loved Lily more than anything, so marrying might have made him a nicer person
Cons:
1. Lily never really felt that way for Severus
2. If Lily didn't marry James, there wouldn't be a Harry Potter
3. They were best friends
