chapter 21

You can't sleep.

No matter how much you toss or turn you just couldn't sleep.

You sit up and look around the dark room. Just then, something catches your eye, a shiny... thing. You stoand up to go check out what it is. 

You pick it up, and notice that it is a picture frame that you had fliped over.  Judging by the amount of dust that had accumulated on it you fliped it over a long time ago. 

You rotate the frame over and dust off the glass.

Your eyes widen at the sight of the last photo of the Todoroki family and you before Touya had passed away. It had been taken only five hours before Touya died.

Your blood runs cold. It is was chilling to know that just hours after that photo where you where so genuinely happy, one of the wost things to happen to you would happen.

You put a hand to your face and notice that you are crying.

To this day, you remember hearing that bloodcurdling scream and right before your very eyes, the figure in the flames, wouldn't even be visible to someone with an x-ray Vision quirk.

You set that frame back face down. You aren't ready to go back down that path yet.

You fell asleep immediately   after you slipped into bed.

"Wait!  Please let me talk to you!  We haven't seen each other in years,  but I still feel the same way for you! This could be the ending of pretty much everything! You are my everything!  My thoughts,  my friend,  my strength,  my weakness, my life, my love,  my heart,  EVERYTHING!"

"Can you stop?! We've went our separate ways for a reason!  I... well I-  god, I don't wanna wrap you up with this.  Just let me be, so I can do me and you can do you."

"I am doing me. It's my job to protect the people who the heroes forget.  At my work,  we have a motto,  'no pain goes untreated, just like no problem goes unsolved.' I plan on making that short phrase reality. I know that this'll feel really sudden,  but, some of my coworkers and I attended a hero conference recently and the topic of you came up.  They discussed your punishment for the lives you've taken. All of them were too painful for me to imagine you going through!"

"Whatever fate I get,  I deserve.  I  fear death, of course,  but I know that what goes around comes around.  I deserve the fate I'm gonna get. "

You jolt awake. 

'What was that?  Who was that?'  You think to yourself.  You're confused but you soon shrug it off. 

You get out of bed and go downstairs so that you can make breakfast.  When you finally reach the kitchen,  Murasaki, Shiro, and Ao are already waiting for you.

"Alright,  why're you three awake? Go back to bed." You tell them.  "We can't." Murasaki starts. "The three of us all had the same dream last night." Shiro continues.  "And it spooked us enough that we don't wanna go back to sleep."  Ao finishes.

A shiver goes down your spine.

"It had a man who was tall, wore all black and had scars all over his face."  Murasaki tells you.  "He said something to Ao that we can't really remember, but I didn't like it." Shiro ads.  "It was something like,  'you can't deny your bloodline.' Or something."  Ao finishes.
