Chapter 6

Your pov~

Finally it was night, seeing all the humans asleep. I walked through their village, camouflaged into the greenery around me walking by them, hearing the other Night Fury grunting behind me. Making my way around to see him grunt again bringing his head up, turning it to see me come out of hiding. He grunts happily as he bounced in circles purring as well

Looking around as he yowl I growl at him "be quiet" purring, as well as turning around making my way away from the people as the other Night Fury follows me from the other side of a tent, our eyes staying on each other. Purring towards the other as well, till he bonks his head on a pole. Finding each other as he followed my movements before dashing off away from their camp. Spreading my wings and flying towards the beach as he runs on the ground below me. Calling him every few seconds so he didn't lose me

He stops at the edge while I land on the beach near the shore. Turning my head to look at him with a smile, taking a few steps forward. The male dragon takes a step forward but ends up sliding down the sand grunting and growling "whoa! Whoa!" rolling by me as he lands back on his feet and faces me "hi!" Staring at him before turning my body to face him and sit down "u-uh i was wondering if we could be together"

"That depends" smirking towards him before standing up and prancing in a circle before lying down. My wings tucked next to me, grunting softly "what can you do?" He glances up secretly before he brings his wings up and down twice as he sits down with a smile. Looking at him with a straight face before licking my shoulder as I purr. A twig snaps, looking up towards a tree with a grunt, eyes turning to slits 'what was that?'. Turning to him with a suspicious look as he just gives an awkward smile. He goes back to flapping his wings rapidly causing it to make him spin as he comes towards me. When he stops I bring my wings up, blocking my face from the sand. Pulling them away to feel sand tickling my nose now "achoo!"

"Uh, hehe. Sorry" licking my arm clean as he stands on his hind legs with his arms to his side as if flapping them, walking around like a human. My eyes follow him, looking confused by this while he sputtered a call

"Um, what was that?"

"Oh!" he gets on all fours and does the same kind of dance the Deadly Nadders did then wrapped his wings around his head before sticking his head out. Repeating it before returning his wings to his sides and jumping up and down

'What is he doing?' He put his tail up to the back of his head and his wings to his tail as he bounced up and down grunting deeply as well. When he got close, I swatted his head as if telling him to stop before running to my left on a tree that stuck out before wrapping my tail around it and hanging upside down "you're weird" wrapping my wings around me like a cocoon. It didn't take long for him to climb onto the branch with me as I heard it creak. Feeling myself go up and down, I opened my wings wondering what he was doing "huh?" looking up to see it was him "why are you swaying the branch? Stop!" grunting as the branch broke causing him to fall. When he got back up and looked at me "hmph" glaring at him as I closed my wings back up

"Aha!" hearing the movement of some sand while I peaked out of my wings watching him do something with a stick in his mouth. Getting off the tree to watch him better

Walking up towards it with a smile "what's this your doing with the sand?" he only squinted his eyes before seemingly finishing what he was doing. Sitting down to look at the thing he did. When he finished he looked at me as I was going to walk towards him. When I took my first step he growled at me, so I snapped back "watch it buster!" he sat up straight with a shocked face as he dropped the stick. When I saw he wasn't trying anything, I stood up straight as well tilting my head sideways curious towards him. Fascinated by him, getting up, purring as I made my way towards him again. He slouched his head when I got in front of him "my name is (y/n)"

"I-i'm Toothless"

"Well, Toothless, follow me" turning towards the water, swaying my tail and spreading my wings flying into the sky to where me and my friend lived

"Wait for me!" he spoke standing on a rock

Turning around as I flew behind him making a roar "come on, Toothless!" flapping my wings above the water waiting for him. Something catching my eye, seeing the human from before and giving a snarl "sorry, Toothless" making my way away from the human as I glance back to see Toothless in the water now

(with Hiccup)

Third pov~

Hiccup went to work on a device as Astrid walked over towards the blueprint "oh. Someone hasn't slept"

"Yeah. Well, that other Night Fury won't let me within a mile of her. And neither of us will be getting any sleep or finding the Hidden World until Toothless takes over" the said dragon nudges him to look through the glass "hey!" Seeing his smile immediately melted his anger from being shoved "what do you think of that?" his only response was a smile and a grunt "yeah"

"You tried this once before. He didn't want it" Astrid reminded him as she put some of Toothless scales in the bowl Hiccup held

He just gave a sigh "well, until now, he didn't have a reason to. Right, bud?" holding the bowl out as Toothless put a lot of his spit in it before turning away. Using a stick to grind the two together while Astrid chuckled "what?"

"No, nothing. I'm-i'm impressed. I mean, look at you. Embracing change. I am proud of you"

Hiccup just shrugs at this "well, he's my best bud. I want him to be happy. Eh, besides, it's just until he brings her back" he added as he kissed her cheek and grabbed the fake tail as she sighs from this "all right" pulling the tail out "fire when ready" Toothless shooting fire at the tail. Seeing that it didn't burn as he folded it back up

Gobber being the one that was behind the tail as he turned around and putting out his mustache that had some fire on it "well, I guess you know the tail is fireproof" before walking away

"Okay, Toothless" immediately the dragon jumped around Hiccup with grunts of happiness "okay, okay. Okay, yes, I know" he had his tail out as Hiccup sat on it putting the fake on with shush noises "I know" his tail wagging with excitement "please, this is not helping"

"Well, well, well. Someone's excited"

Hiccup sighed "he's fresh off his first date. Now he's love crazed"

"Only we're the ones going crazy. The sooner he brings back that Night Fury, the better" Gobber told him

"Yeah, but to do that, he'll need to fly without me. So time to give this new and improved baby a shot" Hiccup retorted as he got off Toothless's tail as he stood up bringing his tail up as well staring at it "attaboy. Looking sharp, Toothless!" The male Night Fury brought his tail in his face bringing the tail in and out "so what do you think, bud? Bring her home" Hiccup then mimicked his fathers voice "by sundown at the latest'' Toothless grunts nudging his chest before licking him making Hiccup groan "no, save that for your girlfriend" his dragon hugged him before letting go and turning around "go on. Get out of here" Toothless ran into the woods but stopped as he turned to face his friend with a sad groan, not being used to flying without him "it's okay"

Toothless shook his head with a happy grunt as he turned back around bouncing up and down as he spread his wings flying in to the air to look for the female Night Fury
