The Other Night Fury (Toothless x reader)

Chapter 10

Hiccup jumped down and landed at the chain near Toothless' tail climbing down to set him free "i'm sorry, bud, for everything" even with everything Toothless still purred towards him. The Deathgrippers flying aimlessly in a circle, Toothless and Hiccup falling down with them. When hitting the water, Toothless quickly flew right out. The two aiming to help (y/n) out "now, let's go get her" Toothless roaring in agreement

The two friends fly high into the thunderstorm after Grimmel as (y/n) growls to try balancing herself. Toothless roared not far behind them, quickly gaining speed

Grimmel leaned forward, grabbing the face mussel as he leaned right "that's it, that's it" Toothless never once losing sight of the two while flying after them

When in a slight clearing Toothless shot a plasma blast, but Grimmel pulled (y/n) up making her take the hit of the blast instead as she groaned in pain before flying straight again. Toothless seemed stunned he used her as a shield "how are we gonna get him off her back without hurting her?" The two flew past ice mountains as they heard the dragon roars of Deathgrippers "uh, we've got problems" one trying to swipe at Hiccup but Toothless circled around swiping him away after Hiccup ducked. He then blasted the left side of him and the rocks of the mountain fell on the other dragon. As Grimmel maneuvers around the mountains a Deathgripper crashes into them with more following, Toothless roaring at them while still trying to follow (y/n). Toothless sent a blast as a Deathgripper grabbed onto his back using its tail to stab him, thankfully Toothless was able to doge all of the attacks it made with its tail "we need a better plan, and quick!" the three Deathgrippers hold onto Toothless was making electricity on his back like he did before with (y/n). Hiccup looking back curious "uh, uh, what are, what are you doing?" Toothless roars as the dragons cling to him tighter "okay. okay" Toothless letting out the loudest roar as electricity came from the clouds striking the other dragons down as Toothless disappeared

Grimmel looks back not seeing the male Night Fury as Toothless turning as he was now in front of the two. As Toothless flew to them Hiccup jumped off yelling. Grimmel was quick to pull out his bow shooting it forward, Hiccup turning to dodge but instead hitting Toothless as he groaned from the pain. Hiccup kicks Grimmel as he screams from being kicked off, as he was about to fall, Grimmel grabbed Hiccup's foot as Hiccup held onto the metal mussel "you'll kill both of us! Fighting over a dragon?" Hiccup saw Toothless falling now having fear on his face "that's your plan?"

"This is" Hiccup spoke as he pulled the needle out and tore off the mussel. (y/n) groans as she shakes her head, looking at Hiccup as he looks back at her "save him" with those words he let go of (y/n). In return (y/n) seemed surprised that he showed so much love for Toothless as she roared towards him before turning in the direction Toothless was falling. Flying fast enough she caught Toothless and pulled them onto the cliff

Hiccup watched his buddy be saved as Grimmel had climbed up onto him tearing his suits wings off. He grabbed onto Hiccup's prosthetic leg. There was a shrieking noise, seeing (y/n) diving down towards him. He bent down mid fall and unlatched the leg, just as they were about to hit the water (y/n) caught Hiccup. Flying back up towards Toothless, but not before (y/n) bent her head down to look at him where she looked upside down to him. (y/n) grunted happily at him as Hiccup smiled back "see?" he chuckled "I knew you'd come around" when she flew barely above the cliff she let go of Hiccup before landing on the ground herself looking back at him as she grunted. Hiccup looked around to see the dragons all flying around the cliff and his people cheering for him and his friends while they landed with their dragons. When he saw all of them celebrating he turned to see Toothless snapping out of it. Bouncing over to his buddy as he laid on his stomach in front of him "hey, good morning, bud" Toothless groans lightly in response "here you go" he pulled himself up to be sitting down as his buddy laid his head in his lap "boy, your full of surprises" (y/n) coos softly while staring at Toothless, Hiccup quickly noticing "he's all yours" he rubbed her head before bouncing over as Astrid helps him

(y/n) nudges her head under Toothless' as he purrs, pulling himself back up while the two's heads are touching. The two Furies rub the side of each other as they both purr. Toothless stares at Hiccup as (y/n) watches. Toothless sniffs softly before turning his head out into the sea where the Hidden World is, turning his head back to Hiccup as if asking if he could go. Hiccup notices and hops over to him while Toothless grunts softly at his rider "you're right bud. It's time. I was so busy fighting for a world that I wanted, I didn't think about what you needed" Hiccup spoke then looking at (y/n) who watched the two intently, knowing not to interrupt. He looked back at Toothless "you've looked after us for long enough. Time to look after yourselves"

At Hiccup's words, Astrid looks at Valka who nodded at her son's words, Gobber looking as if he was about to cry. Astrid turned to her dragon who snorted sadly knowing what she was doing. She unclipped her saddle taking it off "oh, Stormfly, my good girl"

"All right, Grumpy" Gobber spoke sadly as he took off his dragons saddle

"Off you go" Eret spoke to Stoick's dragon taking his saddle too

"So long, you big ugly beast. I'll miss you"

Everyone turns to their dragons pulling their saddles off with sad faces. Valka turned to Cloudjumper who grunted softly at her "oh, Cloudjumper. Oh"

The twins were for once quiet as Tuff nudged his sister gently, not in a way to upset her, but as a way to comfort her. Snotlout looking at Hookfang sadly, the dragon not seeming as eager to fly off as he usually does. As Hiccup and Toothless watched, he turned to his buddy "go on, bud. Lead them to the Hidden World" Toothless nudges him with a soft purr as he looks to him "you'll be safe there. Safer than you could ever be with me" he only grunts at Hiccup, who seems to know what he said without having to understand his language "it's okay. I love you, too" Hiccup hugs Toothless head "and I want you to be free" as Toothless grunts softly at him Hiccup hops back with a sad look "our world doesn't deserve you. Yet" Toothless glances back at (y/n) who lowers her head a bit. Just as he turned his head back Toothless gets on his hind legs and pulls Hiccup into a hug while purring. Hiccup held his friends' head wishing he didn't have to leave but knowing he did "go, Toothless" a tear falling from his eyes as he hopped back "go" taking his hand off Toothless nose with tears not being able to hold them back anymore. With a tiny nod, Toothless turned to (y/n) before turning to the sky as he let out a loud roar all the dragons copying him. (y/n) looked at him with a purr turning to the edge of the clip and spreading her wings as she flew home as all the dragons from Berk followed her. Toothless stayed to make sure no dragon was left behind before turning to look at Hiccup once more. Giving him another nod as Toothless grunted softly before lifting into the air after the other dragons and (y/n)
