Toothless soared in the sky, his head searching everywhere letting out a roar "(y/n)!" when he didn't get a response he called again "(y/n)!" seeing there was no answer he looked down "where are you?" just as he asked that his ears perked up seeing a shadow that looked like him. But when he flew by it was just his as he gave out a sad grunt when a blast was heard in the distance

Your pov~

Hearing the flapping of his wings as he made his way in my direction, just above me. While I flew, perking my head up in his direction coming out of the clouds to hear him give out an excited roar. When I was fully out of it his eyes barely showed as he purred "so you can fly now?" smiling towards him

"Yep! look!" he gave a twirl as he showed his tail fin

"That's good news" twirling above him to the other side of him "come one!" turning back towards him with a smile as he happily followed me into a swirling thunder cloud. Flying around towards the middle of it as I look at him "watch this!" looking forward again, blasting in front of me and fly into it and seeming like I disappeared and flew out revealing myself again "cool, right!"

"That was so cool!" giving me a toothless grin seeing as that may have been how he got his name

"You try it now" he roars and shoots in front of him and dives into the after flames but didn't disappear

"Huh, uh, it didn't work" he spoke as he looked under him facing me

"Heh, I see that you goof. Try again" facing forward as he lets out a big blast and quickly flew into it again, but when it didn't work again he gave a sad grunt "try once more, you can do it" he snarled as he held a blast in his mouth while electricity collected onto him, no blast being required as he disappeared when he roared. Stopping mid flight looking around "where did he go?" there was a thunder clap, turning around to see him re appear as he lets smoke out of his mouth. Quickly making my way towards him as he seemed to have tired himself out. Going below and bumping him up "you did it!"

"Huh? I did?" not noticing he even disappeared

"Your's was so cool!"

Toothless was quick to follow as I flew up the hole of the thunder tornado. Flying up facing him as he was in front of me, the two of us staring and smiling at each other. Toothless quickly licked my forehead. A purr coming out of my throat as we fell back down and out of the Thunder-nado. Our wings were spread out as we flew next to each other, him smiling as he looked at me "I don't want to leave your side, (y/n)"

"Toothless..I don't want to leave yours either" leaning closer as the tip of our wings touched as we flew side by side

"R-really?" Toothless spoke expecting me to reject his offer

"Yes, really. Toothless, there's something I want to show you" going up above him as we flew towards my home

"What's this?" looking down at the falling water

My eyes were on him though "this is my home"

"Your..home? I'd love to see it"

"Awesome!" turning towards him as i go upside down, grabbing his paws and pulling him down towards the entrance of my home

-timeskip to after the fight-

(imma skip the whole scene with Grimmel and supposedly capturing him because it has nothing to do with the love for you and Toothless. sorry i just kinda got lazy and didn't want to do the whole fighting scene)

"God almighty! Guess we won't be needing this then, huh?"

"I led us right into his trap"

"Yeah, nice work, Chief. Right, Ruff?"

"Wait" Hiccup spoke, seeing the other twin wasn't there "Where is Ruffnut?"

"Uh..."

"We-we left her behind?" panicked Fishlegs

"How could you not notice she was missing? You ride a two-headed dragon"

"Oh, yeah. I feel like how Ruffnut is every day: dumb"

"Odin be spanked! This just gets better and better" shouts Gobber "any more fantastic news?"

"O-okay, guys, just keep your helmets on. Toothless and I will find her"

"Toothless has that Night Fury now. He's probably not even coming back" a villager retorts

"What?" Hiccup asks him confused

"You gave him his freedom, Hiccup. What were you expecting?" Astrid wondering thinking he should have thought of that

"I never thought he'd stay away for good! I-I..." he sighs "look, I'll-I'll finger it out. I just need more time" Hiccup retorted as he walked away clueless at what to do with his dragon friend not there

Valka turns to Astrid "he thinks he has to lead alone. Well, because his father had to. He doesn't realize the strength you have together. Do you still believe in him?"

"Of course. I wish he did. But he thinks he's nothing without Toothless" Astrid retorts back looking at Hiccup with a worried look

"Then help him realize the truth"

Hiccup grabbed his hair as Stormfly lands in front of him with Astrid on her "get on"

"What?" looking up at her confused

"We're going to find him" holding her hand out towards Hiccup

"Really?" taking her hand as they turn to the village "everyone, stay put. We will get Ruffnut back. Don't worry"

Tuff scoffs at that "if they're stuck with Ruffnut. I'm more worried about them" chuckling at the end

"Where-where is she heading?

"She's tracking something. Aren't you, girl?" Astrid spoke petting the dragon

"There's nothing but miles and miles of..." he stopped his rant as they heard water rushing down, the Deadly Nadder circling the outer rim "a great waterfall"

"At the end of the world" Stormfly swirls before turning towards the waterfall and diving down into the middle of it "Stormfly!" Astrid yells as her dragon continues on her path and out of the waterfall the two went as Stormfly glides forwards into what seemed to be a cave
