"this is New Berk at Snoggletog, the greatest time of the year. the lights, the hunting songs, the holiday shopping...the yak-nog shooters. the only think missing...was dragons. it's been ten years since vikings and dragons agreed to live apart, but that doesn't mean we've forgotten our flying friends. and the best part of it all, Nuffink, was on Snoggletog Eve..."

"yeah"

"i'd make Toothless his favorite meal" his father continued

"what was it?" asked his son curious

"Lake trout...with a side if Sea trout...on a bed of Brook trout"

"we all like trout!" exclaimed Nuffink

"and even though he's gone, I still make it for him. a lot of families do stuff like this. it keeps our loved ones in our hearts, even though they're far away" Hiccup spoke as he looked to his wife Astrid before looking back at his son "so, wanna help me catch some fish?"

"good on you! we're gonna feed Toothless! I don't need a fishing poke, dad. i'll just butt the we fishies on their own wee head!" he spoke as he stood up then charged the fireplace side with his head "ow. ow. ow!" laughing as he did so

"come on. let's get Toothless a snack" 'we were excited about making a traditional dragon feast and then it hit me' as hiccup narrated the end, he got hit in his left side with a log sending him flying "oh!" 'not everyone was on board' he remembered as he pulled himself up from the snow seeing his daughter laughing 

"yes! it worked!" she exclaimed happily running to her trap

"Zephyr, what are you doing?" Astrid asked as she stopped the swinging log that her son Nuffink was now sitting on

"testing my dragon defense system. you and all the grown-ups in New Berk are leaving them snacks. what if one shows up?" Zephyr answered as she redoes her trap while asking her question after

"what-- that would be great! we love dragons" spoke Hiccup now standing by his wife

"why? they're monsters"

they looked at her confused as to why the thought so, she walked inside sitting on the couch showing them their old dragon info guides from when they used to fight dragons seeing why she thought this now "oh... uh..."

"uh..." the two parents spoke seeing the problem

"I found this in the attic. it was Grandpa's. how come you never told us the truth about dragons?" questioned Zephyr

"but we did. dragons are wonderful. they're our friends" answered Hiccup

"tell me this-- are they giant?"

"well, yeah"

"razor-sharp teeth?"

"uh..."

"breath fire?"

"I suppose so"

"claws?"
