Kiss and make up

Quick backstory: Emily and Aaron started dating in college after Hayley broke his heart, 9 months later the hospital called him saying Jack was born(he didn't know about his son) Emily helped raise the boy with him. One night after they both had to much to drink, they ended up in a huge argument ultimately calling it quits after nearly 5 years together. Jack was heartbroken that he wouldn't see her anymore, but would still stay with her one night a week. Emily left in tears as Hotch had to pull his son off the brunette

4 months later

A knock on the door, pulled her away from the task that was occupying her.

"Emmy!" The boy yelled throwing himself at her legs

"Hi baby!" She smiled widely picking the nearly 4 year old up
"How's my favourite little man doing?" He giggled as she tickled him slightly

Aaron's heart ached at the sight

"Why don't you go look upstairs in your room, I got you something" she told him setting the boy down

"You shouldn't spoil him" Hotch said blankly

"I want to" Emily replied

"Still" an awkward silence filled the room
"Well um, I better go" he said giving her Jacks super man bag

"Yeah, what time will you pick him up?"

"I'll text you" Hotch told her

Sighing heavily as she closed the door she leaned against it banging bed head slightly at the awkward encounter

"I see you found your present" she smiled at the boy

"Thank you Em'ly" Jack said hugging her tightly as she kneeled down next to him, abandoning the toy truck temporarily

"You're very welcome handsome" Emily said kissing his forehead

After just looking at the boy play with him toys for a while, her eyes started tearing as she realised just how much she missed seeing him every day

"I'm just going to get us some snacks and then how about we start that movie marathon you were talking about?" She said needing to clear her head, seeing the boy nod she walked into the kitchen and returned shortly after laughing softly as Jack was already swarmed on the couch with 'their' favourite blanket

"Cuddles?" Jack giggled knowingly

"Always"

A few movies later and Jack was dozing off, so Emily decided to put him in the spare room she had, although she had another one this one was reserved for Jack. She had bought him bedcover, toys and curtains all car themed.

"Come on buddy, time for bed" she said picking the boy up

He mumbled something about not being tired and wanting to watch the rest of the movie, she suppressed a laugh as his eyes fluttered closed. Pressing a final kiss to the toddlers forehead she closed the door, but leaving it slightly ajar after turning on his nightlight.

With a heavy sigh Emily collapsed on her bed, she had forgotten how fast moving the boy was. Looking the her right her click read 8:27 pm frowning, she picked up her phone seeing a text from Hotch asking if Jack could stay the night, because he got called into a meeting. Quickly replying with an 'of course' she walked into the bathroom and had a quick shower.

"And what exactly are you doing in my bed Mister?" Emily asked jokingly

His "sleep by you" was muffled by the pillow his face was pressed into

"I miss you" Jack said into her shirt as he cuddled up to her

"I know baby, I miss you too" Emily replied running her hand over his back

She was grateful that he fell asleep before he asked to many questions, if she was being honest with herself not only did she miss staying with the little boy who she had come to love very fast but also him father.

Holding Jack closer to her, she fell asleep with a smile on her face, hoping that one day she and Aaron would figure out their differences and make up. Because she was still heavily in love with him, hoping he was still heavily in love with her

After the 3rd knock, Aaron decided to let himself in with the key he had to her apartment, noting that the light was off in the main living area he knew she was asleep.

Walking threw the hallway he stopped when he entered her room, his head aching at the sight, yet he managed a smile.

"Aaron?" He smiled even wider she hadn't called him by his name since their fight

"Sorry I forgot I said he'd stay here the night" he apologised not moving from his spot at the door

"That's okay, want some coffee?" She asked tiredly getting out of bed, making sure Jack was safe and tucked in they walked into the kitchen

"So, um I wanted to talk to you"
She swallowed thickly at his words

"Yeah , sure, what's up?" She asked

"Taking the cup out of her hand he placed it on the coffee table next to his, moving over closer to her he took one of her hands

"I really don't know how to say this so I'm just going to say it" he started

"What are you" he cut her off

"Em, please just let me speak" Hotch smiled slightly, one that made her heart skip

Squeezing her hand he continued "I'm still in love with you, these last four months has been hell without you"
He couldn't even finish his sentence before she jumped him, kissing him passionately yet softly

"I love you too" she whispered when she pulled away

"I'm so glad you feel the same way" he smiled

"Will you stay the night?" Emily asked hopefully

"I wasn't planning on leaving" Aaron replied taking her hand
"We'll figure everything out in the morning" he added kissing her cheek

"Daddy?" Jack asked sleepily as the two climbed into bed

"Yeah bud" he confirmed his presence, pulling Emily closer to him as his son curled into her

They all fell asleep with a smile on their face
