Not so unexpected

Emily's hands shook as she picked up the phone and dropped the stick

"Hey em"

"Aaron" she whimpered

"Em? What's wrong?" He asked concerned

"Can you come over. Please"

"I'll be right there." Aaron answered rushing to get his car keys

"Aaron where are you going?" Emily could hear Anna, his mother ask

"Somethings wrong Emily called me. I'm going over" he called out as the door shut

"Emily? Can I come in" he asked knocking on the closed bathroom door

He heard a muffled 'yeah' before he opened the heave oak door.
Before he could even ask her what's wrong he saw the two lines.

Sinking down next to her he pulled her towards him. Her head rested in the crook of his neck with her legs thrown sideways over his lap.

"Well" she said

"Well. Its...." he struggled to form his words

"It's what?" She snapped her head up looking at him questionably

"It's not unexpected. But it's not like we expected this to happen either" he sighed

"My parents are going to fucking kill me" Emily said with a groan

"I know" he said

"You're not helping" she cried

"I know honey. I'm sorry" he assured her rubbing her back
"When did you suspect it?"

"Last week. I'm late" she told him simply
"What are we going to do?" Emily cried burring her face in her hands

"What do you want to do?"

"Well I'm not killing my baby"

"Our baby" he said placing a hand over hers

"You want to do this?" She asked surprised

"If you want to... then I'm all in" his reaction made her break down and cry again

18 months later

"Shhh. Hunter please. Mommy is really tired. So you have to be really quiet for her okay" Aaron hissed the 7 month old

Feeling her arms wrap around his waist he looked over his shoulder seeing a sleepy Emily lean against him

"Why aren't you in bed?"

"You're good with him" Emily said ignoring his question

"I still can't believe it. I'm an 18 year old with a baby." He smiled happily

"I love you" she whispered against his shoulder blade

"I love you too"

"Mama" the little boy babbled for the first time

"Oh my baby" she said excitedly taking Hunter into her arms
