Outfit above is Jacey's date clothes, keep in mind she does not want to be there 😂
Sitting under the stars, at a table outside a restaurant sounds romantic, right? Wrong. This place serves fancy shit, but according to my date, I have to order off the kid's menu. I'm currently drinking from a carton of orange juice, and am ready to kill someone, hopefully the guy sitting across from me. My first impression was absolutely right, this guy was trying to get in to my pants, and he realised as soon as we got here that I wouldn't be giving him anything other than a slap. That's why I had to order spaghetti hoops. What restaurant actually serves this stuff? They come out of a fricking can! And Tom, who was still a perv by the way, had scared our waitress away, he had played with her hair, and she did not like that at all. I don't blame her whatsoever. I rubbed my eyes, and stopped when I heard the sound of a plate being placed in front of me. Great, my supermarket special is here.
"Here's your... Hoops." I sighed, this is so embarrassing. "Thanks." I told the waiter, who placed some water on the table and who was also Zack. Guess I can eat now and wait! It's Zack? I snapped my head up. Shit. Now is the day, the universe decides it's time for me to see him again? Of course he looks good right now, I barely made an effort for this thing, considering I didn't even want to be here in the first place. He was smirking at me. After months of no contact, he's smirking at me like he knows what I'm thinking? Oh hell no. A plan formulated in my head. I tried a single spaghetti hoop. "Hmmm, this is too cold." I told him. He waved his hand over the plate. "I can feel the heat." He said. "Well not hot enough for me, take it back please." He laughed. "As you wish Ma'am." I shouldn't have said please. I was too nice. Tom excused himself to go to the bathroom and just waved him off, still thinking about my mistakes. If I wanted revenge, this was a crappy way to do it, did he even deserve to have any revenge taken out against him? Ugh, probably not.
Zack returned, somehow looking even better than before, he place my plate back on the table. It was so hot that it burned my arm. "Fuck." I exclaimed, earning some glares from the surrounding people. "Hot enough for you?" I had a feeling he was't talking about my spaghetti hoops... I rolled my eyes. "Oh, I wouldn't get bitchy with me, your date climbed out the bathroom window, go bitch at him." Fantastic. "And left me the bill I suppose." I muttered to myself. He raised his eyebrow at me, because yes, I was more bothered about that than being stood up. I ate, and when he passed me the bill, I realised that it barely made a dent, which I guess I can thank my cheap date for. The receipt had writing on it, 'maybe you'll be seeing more of me', so I had that to look forward to as well: confused feelings and anger issues possibly.
I called Cameron and he picked me up, as we had arranged before .He asked how it went, I gave him a look that told him I would chop his balls off if he annoyed me. He took me to Connor's and the whole squad was there, spread around the sofas. I sat down next to Meghan, and immediately asked her, "weren't you the one who recommended the restaurant?" She at least had the grace to look guilty. "You saw him?" I glared at her. She looked down, to conceal the laughter, well she sucked at hiding it, but she probably didn't want to. "Um, do you want to fill us in?" Morgan asked. I sighed. "The ditching bitch is back."
They all exploded in profanities and exclaims of surprise. "So that's why you looked like you were gonna murder me." Cameron realised. Because I was in a bad mood I said "No that's just your charming personality." I grinned at him, it was somewhat, and by that I mean completely, bitter though. "Play nice." Joey warned as he entered with two cokes, although I wanted one, neither of them were for me, one was for Meghan, of course.
So I went into the kitchen to get myself one. When I'd poured the drink, I turned around to go back and was greeted, yet again, by Cameron. "You again." I stated. "Me again." He agreed. "Are you okay? I know you, like, really liked him." He was being nice, I had no reason to be the bitch, Zack had said I was being earlier. I nodded. "Yeah, I did. " I said honestly. "It just kinda hurt that we didn't really get a chance. I understand why we couldn't have that though, I guess." He tilted his head, analysing me. "You think he doesn't care about you." Wow. I don't think, I'd even admitted that to myself yet. "No, I don't think he does." I said, surprised. "He ended things to protect you right? That doesn't sound like someone who doesn't care to me." He was right and I knew it. It was silent for a moment. "Can I ask you something?" I suddenly exclaimed. He nodded and leaned against a counter. "Why did you kiss me?" His face didn't change, he knew I'd question him about this at some point. "Because I had feelings for you." He answered simply. I stared at him and waited for more, but that was apparently all I was getting, because he shrugged and left the room. I think he enjoyed being cryptic, but it's just annoying to everyone else.
If Zack was really planning on being back in my life, things could get a hell of a lot more complicated. Had things changed? Or was he just willing to put me in danger now?
