Jacey Summers
Weeks had gone by, and I honestly had missed having Zack around. I had barely seen him around school and if I did, he wouldn't make eye contact and speed off in another direction at the sight of me. Not a confidence boost let me tell you. But I did have to keep reminding myself that I did choose to walk away from him that day, and then I tell myself that I was doing that for him, so he wouldn't have to put me in danger, or himself. I could feel a hole in my life, I actually missed the pick up lines and the flirting, what had the world come to?
And we had a massive blowout the other week over nothing and hadn't stopped glaring at each other since. He blamed me. Just because I accidentally walked into him and dropped my stuff all over the school hallway. He cursed me out for it and walked away without helping me pick my shit up.
So I confronted him about it at their house when I was supposed to be studying with Meghan and Morgan. It was bad, and he ended up storming out, of his own house. Dumb ass. I might be holding some hostility towards him. Just a bit.
But what's worse is that I had to try and answer the question, "What happened to you guys?"
Not a fun time for me.
And on top of this, I'd gone back into my shell again, only speaking to my friends, and being the quiet girl in class. I didn't mind, but apparently the guys did.
On the plus side, my birthday was tomorrow, and my parents had returned home, so no more cooking for myself! Less effort for me, and more time on Twitter, or dancing around to 5SOS. [1]
And Jackson was returning to University next week, so goodbye to the fighting over the remote, and hello to peace and quiet! As much as I love the guy, he can be a lot to take 24/7, guess I'd forgotten that having not shared a house with him for a while.
He had been very interested in my life, questioning wherever I was going. I could feel his overprotective side resurfacing, and his reluctance to leave me was stronger than when he left home the first time for whatever reason.
So somehow, school had become my escape. Ironic right? And today's a Friday, so when I got to school, Connor informed me of an assembly this morning, which is just great, it really is. Note the sarcasm.
The principle droned on about, I don't know, litter or something. Okay, so I zoned out. Sue me. But as Sheldon Cooper [2] said, "that would be the very definition of a frivolous lawsuit."
The rest of the day seemed to follow the same pattern, boring teachers, talking about their boring subjects, making my my life, you guessed it, oh so boring. Not even Joey could pull me out of the funk I'd seemingly fallen into today.
I was sat on the sofa, watching John Tucker Must Die, when Jackson arrived home from who knows where, slightly tipsy at 9 o'clock, when my parents were both working late, they were back into their old routine after their vacation.
"Jacey!" He shouted up the stairs, even though he could see me from where he was standing. "What?" I replied standing up. He turned towards me, with a lopsided grin on his face. He put his arm around my shoulder and together we fell back onto the sofa.
His face twisted, looking somewhat sympathetic. "Come on girly, tell Auntie Jackson what's up." He told me. I sighed. Why did Auntie Jackson always make an appearance when he's drunk? I seriously wanted to face palm right then.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, exasperated. "I got a text from Joey, he said you seemed upset, so what's up?" He said slowly, as if talking to a toddler, and I couldn't help but think it was the other way around. "Why did Joey text you?" I asked. "You forget that he was my friend first. And plus I asked him to keep an eye on you." The last part sparked my interest, it seemed to be out of drunken obliviousness, not him actually wanting to tell me that. "Now stop avoiding the question." He knows me so well. "Nothing, I was just tired." I half-lied.
Everything that's happened recently was playing on my mind. I just couldn't seem to concentrate on anything else. It was taking a lot out of me, so I guess it wasn't a complete lie.
He looked at me disbelieving, but I just shrugged his arm off of my shoulders, and went up to bed, not looking into his questioning eyes.
"Happy birthday!" I opened my eyes to see my Mom and Dad dressed and ready for work, my Mom holding a cupcake with a candle in it. I inwardly rolled my eyes, of course they had to go into the office today. I thanked them and they told me present were in the living room, but that they just had to 'see a few patients'. I had a suspicion that could take hours though.
I walked down the stairs to see a pile of neatly wrapped presents sat there. I opened card after card, from family members, some I didn't even know. I made a mental note to send out some thankyou notes though.
I was in the middle of opening a present from Morgan, which was a friendship bracelet that said "partners in crime", and had handcuffs on it, there was a note inside which told me that she had the other one, when there was a knock at the door.
I opened it to reveal a box, with a hand written note attached. I set it down in the living room, and suddenly realised that I was alone on my birthday. My parent's were at work and Jackson was probably nursing a hangover.
I shook my head to rid myself of those depressing thoughts and picked up the note.
Dear Jacey,
I know I've been an asshole to you...

Ooh a cliffhanger. Kind of, anyway.
I haven't been updating as often recently, but I've had science exams to study for, I'm done with those though so I should be updating a bit more often now hopefully.
I wasn't sure if I'd said what Jacey's parents so before, so from now they are both psychologists, and have to work a lot.
I haven't said this in a while, but comment, vote and follow me pwetty pwease!
'Til next time best friends,
