"So, JJ huh? What's that short for?" Fili asked while they walked.
"I could ask you the same thing. What's Fili short for?" the blonde replied sassily. The girl froze for a second, but quickly put on a concealing smirk.
"I asked you first."
"Fair enough. JJ's actually not short for anything. That's just my name. So now you spill."
She didn't freeze this time.
"Sorry, can't tell you," she leaned in close to JJ's ear. "I'm on the run." her voice was filled with irony, but when JJ looked at her, he could tell something just wasn't right. He shrugged it off.
"Oh, are you? From what, the government? Wait, don't tell me you're like a secret Russian spy or something." JJ said, clearly amused.
Fillie cleared her throat. "Oh sweet JJ, if I told you, I'd have to kill you." She tried in her best Russian accent.
"Oh I'd like to see you try, sweetheart." JJ whispered, smirking down at her cockily.
She lingered closer to him, watching him grow tense as their were faces now inches apart. She felt him draw a hasty breath, and she smiled again.
"You'd never see it coming."

She stumbled a lot throughout their walk, clearly having overestimated her tolerance for alcohol once again. They'd walk a few meters, and Fili would suddenly lose balance and trip over herself again, and JJ would have to catch her.
"Jesus dude, how much of that shit did you drink?" He asked, clearly amused by her state.
"Not enough. Your friends had more though, right? Cause I feel like I'm like barely tipsy-
She stumbled once again, tripping forward towards the sand, before JJ caught her again, pulling her back to her feet. He snaked an arm around her waist, securing her tightly to his side so she wouldn't fall again.
"Barely tipsy? Fili you can barely walk. I mean, what would you do without me?" He sounded so goddamn smug and sure of himself. Fili didn't like it.
"Oh please, don't act like you aren't enjoying this."
"Oh no, I definitely am, don't you worry about that." He laughed. But Fili stopped abruptly, forcing JJ to stop too.
"You know what? I can walk on my own, thank you very much. You're dismissed." Her voice was teasing and unserious, but she did want to prove her independence.
"Yeah?" His arm left her waist."You uh, wanna test that theory?"
"Gladly."
She took a few steps forward, focusing her balance. This was easy. She looked back at JJ, a snarky glare that only lasted a second before she tripped backwards. Her back quickly hit the sand, but it was a soft landing and she burst out in giggles. The blonde stood over her, laughing along to her giggles before pulling her up again.
"What was that you said about walking on your own?" He grinned, but was unable to dodge the smack on the head from the petite brunette.
She had a slight urge to punch the cocky boy. Fili wasn't used to this. She wasn't used to that feeling, to someone so easily getting under her skin and getting the better of her. Fili was that person, always a cocky comment on the edge of her tongue and a bone to pick with her peers. She was sharp and calculating, good at arguing and getting what she wanted. At least she normally was, and apparently, this random ass boy was too.
