"Dolce et decorum est. What does it signify?" I shot my hand up knowing this war poem back to back. She nodded allowing me to speak.

"It means it is sweet and fitting to die for your country. I personally believe it isn't, why spend my time fighting for a bunch of stupid politicians who wouldn't even step on the battle field for once and judging by the poem it seems the soldiers had a really hard time surviving those trenches. Diseases, death watching their comrades die I would hate that. But Miss why is it we always talking about white soldiers, I mean give blacks a chance, why are we talking about white soldiers, when your men were raping our women's on hot sunny plantations fields. How come we never talk about that?" some girl gasped next to me and I shot a look at her. First day back and I was hating school.

"We-we have to stick to modules." my teacher drawl out. I wasn't a negative person but this kind of shit pisses me off.

"Right. Of course."

"Why don't you shut up? I’m hung-over and first day back you have already started spewing your hate, just calm it for fuck sake, sitting in this class with you is killing me." Caleb Juliano Montego AKA ‘Julie’ shot from the back. A few people ooed. He was the definition of one of a kind. An asshole in his purest form. He was one of those people who had the looks but his personality just kills everything about him. He was the goalkeeper for the school’s football team, it was weird how it worked because his best friend JB was captain but he was more popular than him probably because Caleb built his reputation as an asshole whilst JB wasn’t so bad but I hated them all, they were just as bad as each other. The fact they sit there and still laugh makes you an accessory. This is the first time in history Caleb has ever directed anything at me. He just sits at the back bored out of his mind.

"Then go and jump off a bridge and die. No one would miss you.”

“Wow ugly Ina is talking about people missing you, I can’t even count on my finger how many people like you.” The class erupted in laughter, his words doesn’t affect me but sometimes I could end up depressing myself literally with the crap people have said to me but I held my own.

"You talk common sense? Sorry I thought that only applied to intellects like myself but please continue I want to hear your dumb down views." my class hissed but no one laughed not when it came to Caleb Montego of course but if it was me, the class will be screeching like a jungle. He shook his head at me, his eyes colder than a dead fish.

"Let’s just ignore her, but I think it is a pleasure to fight for your country. To fight for what is right and falsehood. This soldiers may have lost their minds, people, body parts but they had dignity, they will never be forgotten by the people even those who are too heartless to realise they may not have had a choice." I scoffed again.

"Thanks Caleb." she blushed, of course she would. They all loved him like some idol. THE GUY WAS AN ASSHOLE! I felt like I was the only one who saw through him. If he was ugly and an asshole he wouldn’t be loved this much. It just hit ten past which meant end of the lesson and I was glad to be out.

"Why does it always have to be about you? No one likes you anyways." Beth Gervais said pushing her book into her handbag others mirror her emotion but I didn't care, I never did.

"I'm sorry am I supposed to care?"

"Yes for once because your bitchy attitude doesn't sit right for someone so ugly." They sniggered but I kept my head high. I knew my personal looks didn't confine with what society called beautiful. Let's put it this way to them I was ugly and I know I am deep down, but I won’t let that define me not now or ever. I may be bitchy to them but if I was nice they would walk all over me like they do to Annie James but not me, I refuse to conform to that level. Some are actually scared of me but others still spew at me, those who dare who can face my wrath because I had a mouth on me and I wasn’t afraid to use it whether it be sarcasm  or just downright bitchiness.
